Is there any need for this? Please take this down. Please respect his privacy. The man has a right to say anything he wants. He has the right to be a braggart. We Indians should learn to be gracious and forgiving. Be a class act, Shiv. Take this down. If I misbehave tomorrow, I still wouldn't want anyone putting my face and details up on the internet to be criticized and ridiculed. Please.

nice piece of work shiv. ignore the last anon. he's just being a ninny. what harm does information do? good work. screw this braggart.

Why is his callsign "skins"? Does he play the skinflute as hobby?

Ankur said...

With all due respect Shiv, why do we need to know this?

Anonymous said...

Hi Shiv,
Too much of importance to a non entity, there must be news of more significance out there, waiting for a telling:)

He looks just like Shiv Aroor. Shiv in uniform would look just like him.

Shiv

It's a pointless excersise, except for proving "childishness" in trying to "stalk" a serving officer. By putting up his profile online.

I request you to take this post down, it's in bad taste. Try to beat his arguments and rhetoric if you can, and prove him wrong, which I believe has already been done..

Hope better sense prevails..

Shiv, Please do something on the Pay Comm Anomalies. You are the only hope for three esteemed organizations. Morale at the field is highly down. People are demotivated and may resort to anything in impulse. So kindly do ignite the issue in the News/Media. Let it not die down.

shiv, ignore those sissy-asses. its good to know who one is dealing with.
@ anon1 - dump your forgive & forget act

dude whatever he said was right(except factual errors like name of engine, radar etc). the thing he said that indian's were continously interceping their signals can also be true, as the americans were also doing something like that when they came to India.

I've been part of n -number of breifing and de briefing of IAF in inter- airforce exercises and the charecterstics of them are the same as this one. Besides in this case this chap was speaking to a group of ex- service men and was probably going overboard with enthusiasm.

its better to remove this post, Shiv, since its just a matter of chance that this video came out on the net, another day a similar shameful video of an IAF officer can come on the net(we dont allow cameras though) and probably no one here doest want that the information be given on net. anyways this info beyond the fact that he is a F 15 test pilot and a XYZ in nellis airbase is of no use.

Though young chaps here can learn that the Airforce trainig there(US) is not as centralised as it is here in india.

Anonymous said...

Arre Shiv, how come you in US airforce uniform? Since when?

Anonymous said...

Yes, please respect his privacy.

I think the officers photo must be removed.

Though I admire the investigative efforts. I do feel (as the majority above) we need to cut a little slack here and also respect soilder's privacy. It would also be good if we take pointers from the briefing and incorporate them in our stategies/tactics - even if he was bragging, give him the credit for being a test pilot and definately there are some criticisms that we need to create into opputunities for ourselves, as I truly believe that our fly-boys are 200% proffesional and shall only be tempered by such observations

now here is a nifty piece of investigative journalism. kudos shiv.

dumbo yankee doodle!!!! but u shd remove his photo respect his privacy

I agree with Anon#1.

This guy's bluff has already been called by the gurus (Vishnu, Trimble George J, etc).

His profile has no bearing on the discussion, unless we can prove that this guy had practically nothing to do with Red Flag, and was just shooting his mouth off.

Why do u put all the alphabets in CAPITAL LETTERS?

Received bio-data.. regret to inform that none of the Indian girls are interested in this nut-case..

Please remove this post to prevent negative reaction from Indian women

What's with this 'respect his privacy' rubbish?

Anonymous said...

With due respect to Shiv, who the hell is that guy to be presented here with such prominence? Who wanted to know about him in the first place?

Would have been better if you had displayed your childhood pics in langoti instead.

Sorry dude, this post has little matter and no substance.

1. i'm not so sure everyone would be so happy if some american blog was posting up pics and details of some indian officers....

2. to me, what this american officer said was nothing compared to the sensationalist trash that the indian media produced on this incident. Its too bad there arent more Vishnu Som's in the indian media....

iambob said...

Agreed with the guy above. Whats up with this "respect" crap ?
Indians/kids(not all but a few here) , you need to grow up, grow some balls, and stop being so timid!

If you keep this up, the crackers here in the west will walk all over you. Here, "respect"(or what you call respect) is seen as a sign of weakness.

cannot understand why people are getting so sensitive to this post. is it not just information? what is the big deal? let us get to know the background of the chap who thought he knew so much about our air force and pilots. where does all this graciousness disappear at other times? we truly are a confused people. no wonder the goras have such an opinion of us. fight back. expose the bastards. shiv keep it coming. we are with you. if you have more info on this lout, bring it up here. no one will question you. the ones who do are sissies as someone has previously noted.

There is a definite hint of Racial Tone in the remarks of that US Officer. But Alas! we indians have been taught to present other cheek when some one slaps us !! Thats why balls sized countries like bangladesh and srilanka also keep bugging us.

Anonymous said...

He should change his callsign to Doughboy or Lardass. I didn't know lardasses could be fighter pilots. Dude looks like he hit the buffet line in the mess hall a few too many times. Lay off the donuts fornicator err fornoff.

Anonymous said...

@Desh Premi...

Where did it sound "Racial" ?

This is how mutinies originate. This is how mis-interpretations lead to chaos. This is how unconnected things are connected for sensationalism!!

One of those Crackers from the West said...

Lets see you have a bunch of non-flyers here upset with what a USAF Col said to another group of flyers and pilots in the USAF. Sure, none of you have ever exaggerated.
But lets see, this Col actually flies, actually flies the F-15, actually flies in the USAF and probably has a lot more 'know' about flying and tactics than any of of the incredibly knowledgeable posers here posting on this most important of blog sites.

All of this information is publicly available so nothing much is damaged.

Copy, you get to amuse yourselves with comments such as Lardass and Doughboy, Crackers....Awesome job guys you're a real class act.
Unlike your Air Force which was professional when my sqdn flew with them in our country.

Too bad Shiv Aroor could not have dealt with this in a better way...his credibility is lessened with kindergarten tactics like this. Probably should just dispute the facts versus try and go after someone on a personal level. Because truly, lets compare, you've got a Col who flies a fighter jet and an newspaper guy who writes about the guy's who fly a jet? Who would you rather be....?

Oh well, I guess you'll want to flog me now. But just Like Col Fornof, I don't care and it won't stop us from flying tomorrow.

cracker: bugger off. you're a loser like fornof. go hide with your tail between your legs. the information here is harmless. what's the big deal is we know the background of the guy who had so much to say about the air force? nothing personal, mate. stop sulking. very un-fighter pilot like. check?

Cracker from the West said...

To the poser above:

Copy--Dot.

Don't Worry, not sulking, just laughing....mate.

How trivial all of the above is.....

Prayers and sympathy to those touched by the latest attacks in Mumbai.

May those that planned and brought terrorism to your country be found, held accountable, and brought to justice.

Anonymous said...

come on cut with the "respect the privacy" bullshit .... we should now really stop offering the other cheek to be slapped ..... mumbai is one example of our age old tradition .... btw when does our PM plan to take stern miliatry action? After he is out of office? gutless polity by god

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. It seems that he is being perfectly honest and truthful. I don't think his point is to be derogatory. If you attend professional meetings - this is how people talk - being PC isn't always useful. Stop getting worked up about crap and go build better airplanes ;)
By the way, before someone flames me, I'm Indian.

Looks like the shiv has hit the fan.

Trust this page is really the correct place to contribute this... I simply just hoped to make it easy for anyone inside the forum who lives in Oz know about a tremendous high end audio visual equipment internet site known as Ordio. I came across them totally by mistake when I was hunting for Tvs and it just so happened that these guys had the lowest prices around. Not only that but they are incredibly knowledgeable and even followed up on my expenditure to be certain that I was still happy. They buy out considerable inventories of electronics so that they can absolutely break the price down. Absolutely stop by if you're in the market for some home electronics.
