If we are buying a couple of Billion dollars worth of mil equipment from Boeing the least we can expect from them is to show India's Map correctly.

India's Kashmir needs to be shown correctly displaying the entire jammu and kashmir as a part of India.

You guys also have a role to play by pointing this out to the goras whenever you see an error being done.

Thanks Shiv.

Only,Kashmir! the map also lacks Arunachal & Sikkim.

I hadn't enlarged the map to see that Arunachal & sikkim were also not shown.
This is sheer obstinacy of Boeing! India accounts for far far more business oppertunities for boeing than 98% nations of the world. (Probably except the US and China)

How dare they.

GOI and our media seems to be asleep on their asses as usual.

How can the P-8I be refueled Mid Air ??.. what system does it Use ?

HOW COME OBAMA CLEARED P-8I BUT HOLDING BACK LM2500 ?????????????????

retiring TU142M will b most foolish thing,P8I simply doesn't match the range and payload of
tu142m and moreover lots of US reservation on this

can this aircraft go to johenesburg from mumbai and come back without refuelling

JAPAN refused this aircraft

boeing issued rubbished brochures by comparing MI26 with chinook

now y don't they compare the payload, price and range of this aircraft with IL38,TU142M

indian navy criticized sea dragon suite for not detecting submarine but how can navy purchase this aircraft without checking sensors in actual conditions to check whether it is able to detect submarines or not

Nobody is retiring the Tu-142's yet. They are scheduled to be refurbished and will be used well into the 2020s

This is what beaurecracy is all about. or this is the way the americans are sending a message. You will always be dependand on them for key items (the lockheed engines now - the seaking helo spare parts in the past).

But there is no other option for India either. A US whose economy is currently not exactly running very high, will learn what hagglers and bargainers the Indians are. The russians know it first hand when the Indians got the Su-30 MKI and the Gorshkov deals dirt cheap when the russians were down.

as usual U.S.A is unloading it's junk on india, and boeing is more than happy to play along.the point is can the P8I detect a u-214 ssk ??? the answer is no. It can't even detect or destroy a Agosta-90B, where are we going folks ??? is this what we had hoped for ???? i am crestfallen.

@ Mr Crestfallen anonymous 9:58 pm

On what basis are u stating that the P-8I cant detect Agosta and u-214 type submarines?????

to floyd

indian navy conducted trials of new sea dragon suite for il38 upgrade in actual conditions and that was unable to detect submarine which was a distance target for IL38 but that submarine couldn't b detected

and P8 has not even flown yet and sensor suite yet to be flown in actual sea conditions

and moreover its not easy to detect submarine by just flying anti submarine aircraft over oceans and if this is so easy then that day will be the end of submarine construction and nations will stop building, selling, buying submarines

wasn't the EADS offer was cheaper than boeing

EADS offer was 1.6 billion dollars
compared to 2.2 billion from boeing along with so many US reservation on this

Dear anonymous @ 8:35. If Submarines would have so hard to be detected by ASW aircrafts then these types of planes would have been out of production and forces like USN would not have ordered them in numbers as high as 108. Every type of submarine have some limitation and shortcoming. During peace time sail submarine's shortcoming does't floats so much, but during war even a single cruise missile launch or torpedo launch or high speed chase run will give away probable or exact position of submarine to MPA which with multi sensor search and tracking can ensure kill all by itself. Needless to mention that during war ASW becomes a team game and this naturally increases kill probability.
