Jagran's Jarnail Singh flings shoe at Chidu!

Close friend and colleague, Jarnail Singh, a senior journalist with Dainik Jagran hurled a shoe at Home Minister P Chidambaram at a press conference this morning in Delhi. Jarnail said he protested against the alleged conspiracy hatched by the government when the CBI recommended clearing former Congress goon leader Jagdish Tytler of all charges in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case. When Chidambaram said this was not a forum for argument, the shoe came flying, missing him by just centimetres.

There is no doubt that our legal system has failed in 84 riots case. Hence the courts pardoning Jagdish Tytler doesn't inspire any confidence among the victims who have long lost faith in our justice system.

JARNAIL SINGH, THE NEXT TIME YOU DO SUCH A THING PLEASE DO INFORM THE EXSERVICEMEN AND THE ARMED FORCES. THEY WOULD ALL BE MORE THAN WILLING TO GIVE YOU A FAUJI BOOT TO THROW AT THESE CONGRESS LEECHES.
THESE ITALIAN LACKEYS NEED TO BE BOTED OUT OF THE COUNTRY. CHIDU MUST HAVE TRIED TO BE VERY PRIM AFTER THE INCIDENT BUT THE VENOM IN HIS BLOOD MUST BE BOILING.
JARNAIL SINGH PLEASE USE YOUR PEN TO BRING DOWN THIS ITALIAN COTERIE THAT HAS NOT ONLY VEXED YOU BUT ALSO DEMORALISED THE ARMED FORCES.
BRAVO

Such a shame for a journo. This is not a way to protest.
Why din he hurled shoes at LK Advani when he was the Home Minister & CBI had given a clean chit then also to both Mr. Tytler & Sajjan Kumar.
I'm not taking sides here but things should be put in fair perspective. If CBI acquits someone under NDA rule it is impartial & when the same person is given a clean chit under UPA rule, CBI becomes Congress Bureau of Investigation.
Why has no journo till date talked about RSS & BJP people involved in 84 riots? I myself was witness to RSS people harassing a Sikh family, but no one talks about it, simply bcoz it may not get that many TRPs or maybe the media has a leaning towards the BJP as they keep rewarding the journos by making them their MLA & MPs. Let be fair - u should not spare the congress but also not ignore the RSS & BJP.

SHIV - TUT - TUT SUCH CARELESSNESS!

PLEASE CORRECT THE SPELLING MISTAKE IN THE SUBJECT HEADING OF THIS POST. IN THE LAST WORD 'CHIDU', PLEASE REPLACE 'I' WITH'U'.

MORE DESCRIPTIVE???

Jarnail Singh Well done

C'mon Shiv,
The whole nation is watching re-runs of the shoe tossing incident. Jarnail Singh first says, "I Protest" then tosses his shoe, mind you not hurls it or throws it aiming at chindu, but merely tosses it across the table A FEW METERS AWAY FROM CHINDU.
This is not an iraqi attacking GWB. You can't even construe this as an attack on the person of chindu, it seems to be an outraged reaction at the absurd statement that the Congress was sending out.

congress behaviour to the sikh riots case is an outrage, and kudos to jarnail singh for not trying to hit chidu. he kept his head.

good one Sir, we are with you.

The idiot sardar had premeditated to throw his shoe at the home minister. He was just trying to ape the iraqi journalist and score some brownie points. Speaks volumes of his upbringing. Trying to behave like his name type Jarnail Singh bhindranwale I suppose. Shame on journalists.

! ! I am proud of Sardar Jarnail Singh. He was so civil. ! !

For years, I haven't been able to talk about 1984 riots with anybody, not with fellow Sikhs, not with my Hindu friends, not with my family. I have never been able to comprehend, why innocent Sikhs were butchered. All around us, we lost our dear ones and property and couldn't do anything about it.

Day after day, investigations into the riots have been out-maneuvered by lies-lies and politicians. I don't know, like me, if you also have felt seething anger within yourself, at having to keep on compromising with your conscience and your emotions.

I still remember the day, our Hindu neighbours pleaded with my family to shift to their house and we had to eventually. That day, our pride was compromised, for having had to run with our heads bowed, in our Country, on our own land. For days, I didn't know, whom to trust and whom not to trust. One wants to believe, that wounds have healed, but lately I have been feeling impotent, that after so many years, no culprits have been booked. Even protests by Sikh groups, have all been hijacked by politicians, for their petty benefits.

Jarnail Singh did, what best he could do. He did, what I couldn't do. He was so restricted. I don't condone killings & violence. He showed to Chidambaram and the powers that be, that Sikhs are seething, that we are still suffering the pains.

! ! I am proud of Sardar Jarnail Singh. He was so civil. ! !

Wow!! Well done Jarnail Singh....

It's a great way by you against the VOTER APPEASERS UPA AND THIER BOSSES....

Jarnail Singh represents the frustration of Indian people on the injustice done to the brave and patriotic Sikhs. While Chidambaram is a nice guy and a good minister, as the home minister he shares the blame for the clean chit to Jagdish Tytler. 25 years is a long time for justice ... no wonder people feel frustrated with the "clean chit" to mass murderers Tytler and Sajjan Kumar. Well done, Jarnail Singh, you have raised the issue to a level that congress can not brush it aside any more!

They deserve it. They deserve much more. Every one know that the culprits have been not only spared but rewarded. That is the issue and that can never be buried. NEVER. In the testing times, the Indian state always collides with the mass murderers and the rapists, never defend minorities and all the legal and law enforcement machinery follows the suit. It is the character, a tested reality. No one have hope of justice but this incident stamped this reality.
But can the denial and the force settle everything, it is yet to be decided. Aurangjeb couldn't do this, nor could the English, can this be done by neo-fascists (be in any party)?

An example has to be made of politicians and political parties, that if you take the law into your hands and some of your members indulge in criminal activities, you will be identified and isolated and pursued.

Political careers will be destroyed, not just by those who suffer, but by civil society in general.
I don't see this as merely a sikh expressing his frustation and outrage at smooth and glib talk by an arrogant politician, it seems to be more of an outrage of the general public against politicians getting away with murder even.

That this is but one of the incidents and one of the politicians who was caught in the limelight in Delhi, be sure there are thousands all over the country who were never identified in the eyes of the law.

This isn't just about anti-sikh riots even, this needs to be broader. Everyone who considers himself to be a patriotic Indian, no matter what god he chooses to follow needs to fear no politician or his vile propaganda.

There is no Hindu element involved here. This is not about Hindus and minorities. This is about politicians vs minorities. Average persons don't have the luxury to indulge in riots and mass murder, only politicians and their goons have the spare time and inclination to do so.

So I applaud Jernail Singh, come election season, and Congress I goes into 'Apologising to the Sikhs mode in Punjab for '84' - when there were not even hindu-sikh riots there! Heat needs to be created so that the BJP does the same too.

Good Action but in the wrong forum against the wrong person. Why can't he do this when Tytler or Sajjan Kumar are giving an election speech. I guess those barbarian's supporters will tear him apart just like in 1984. Chidambaram is a decent man so Mr Jarnail knew he would get away. All in all a coward his actions make him out to be. Guess the Shoe is mightier then the pen and the sword.

Regards

A corrupt and chor person like Chidu will not feel even a pinch of shame at this show throwing incident. All the Kangressi people are so used to getting their ass whipped by the Italian mafia that his will seem like a walk in the park. When they did not feel any shame after the Mumbai attacks how can you expect them to feel any pain.

Jarnail Singh, next time use a Bazooka.

Thanks to the Congress the Sikhs were hounded in their homeland and the Kashmiris were forced to seek refuge when driven out by Afridis from across the Border. Remember this was not a Hindu-Sikh or a Hindu-Muslim divide. This was pure Congress orchestrated genocide. And, now this chap Singhvi was trying to justify this on a talk show with Sagarika Ghose. I feel S Ghose should let her conscious speak for her arguments

All those who support the uncouth, brutish and oxymoronic behaviour of Jernail Singh should have their heads examined.

Are we a nation of hooligans who are unable to articulate our feelings about controversial subjects without resorting to and imitating the ways of the Iraqi journalist?

Can't dissent to the UPA or the BJP be shown at the ballot box? Do not condone or support idiotic and childish temper tantrums of emotional jernail singhs. It insults the intelligence of all Sikhs. We are not a terrorist state like Pakistan where such behaviour or even a few jihadi behaviour would get brownie points as well as mob of nincompoop as followers.

Those who live by the sword, die by the sword.

those who raised bhindranwale for political gains, died at the hands of his followers.

those who trained armed and funded LTTE, and sat back and watched indian soldiers massacred in Jaffna, perished at the hands of a suicide bomber from the LTTE.

Sacrificed their lives for the country, indeed ! they were slaughtered like the animals they were.

way to go Mr Jarnail singh, i can give you some old 1 paisa coins, you can toss them at these a**holes next time.
