  1. Good. If the Govt. plays its cards right , maybe a couple of squarderns of the ( air force varient ) should be ordered immediately to commence replacing the Mig 21's as a stop gap measure.

Secondly I have heard that the spyder has been approved by the honest Mr. Anthony. Does it mean goodbye to the Akash and trishul.
So with Nag , trishul and akash being sidelined , what about Mr. Kalam's dreams ?? Somebody should investigate.

Thirdly , do we see a Mog 27 and Jaguar replacment anywhere ? How about the light attack variant of Yak 130 , M 339 or the good old Hawk ?

Finally , Mr. Aroor can I have your opinion on the LCA's current state. Is it capable of providing some amount of point defense capability or that too after 500 more successful tests ??

  2. when HAL's IJT will be ready with AL-55I Engine. Why are you suggesring YAK130?AKASH should not be dumped ? but IJT can. Even AKASH should never be dumped, provided the user is confident of its abilities!

  3. When's the aircraft carrier getting ready? It would have been cheaper to buy more Su-30 MKIs and build new 'naval airbases' near coast, and do air patrolling from there. It is not as if a rustbucket like Vikramaditya is ever going to stand up to a Nimitz class carrier.

  4. Don't know why some oldie a**holes at "Bharat Rakshak" feeling pain in their annals over Mikoyan bureau surviving or not if Mig looses MRCA contract?

  5. Russian junk that has never bee used or proven, not even in their own war in Georgia.

Only Indians are gullible to get conned again and again. That's why no one takes you seriously as a military force.

  6. To Anonymous 5:47 :

The missile shown are a turbojet-powered long-range land-attack weapon Kh-59MK2 which has a stated maximum range of 285km (178 miles), and a claimed accuracy of 3-5 meters (9.8-16.4 feet).

Among other missiles shown (not on this photo) at MAKS with the Indian Navy MIG-29 KUB was the mock-up of a variant of the Kh-38M medium-range air to-surface missile (with folded wings). The Kh-38M family (in development since the late 80:s) is to replace the older Kh-25 family and to some extent the Kh-29.

The Kh-38M has a claimed maximum range of 40km (25 miles), though there are suggestions this may well be conservative. The status of the development program is not known, nor is the projected in-service date.

The Kh-38M family – known as the Kh-38ME for export – is also being proposed as part of the MiG-35 weapons package being for an Indian air force fighter requirement.

Boss, just give up on BR. Tens have done before you. The senior admins and owners of BR are compromized ("Tharoorized" traitors), whose interests lie in promoting US lordship over India, not India becoming a full fledged superpower in our own right. I was quite agitated when I first discovered this a few months ago, and immediately mailed a long letter to two admins with a specific list of points, they couldn't respond to a single assertion with fact. They knew they had been exposed, so chose to use hyperbole instead of raw facts.

You have to admit that their modus operandi is brilliant in its subtlety. Set up a website allegedly promoting Indian interests, award yourself 'eminent' positions on all matters that touch strategy, and then use that position to throttle and misguide the thought streams of thousands of naive members. Even so, I must admit that BR serves the purpose of exciting apathetic Indics into discussing matters of military and strategy; but you soon run into a 'limit'.

I am changing jobs so I am conserving every singly rupee, but after I take the new job I will save some cash and start a new forum myself. We'll see.

  8. The MiG29 remains the best looker amongst fighter aircrafts of our generation!! What a beauty..

On serious note, these birds would mean a quantam jump in capabilities for Indian Naval Aviation. Hope for better pics when these "chicks" finally come home.

Pity the Russia Bashers found so commonly on Indian def forums these days.

    so ur a american a*****e

  10. All unproven weapons. If they are so cool and awesome, how come they're barely tested and then never used by the Russians in war?

How come Indians are such gullible buyers? I blame the fact that most of them are born in villages, yes that means you.

  11. good plane may be but 15-16 do not matter in war…more over india doesnt need 4 bn for thse junkss……we could build 4 submarines with these money so saddddd
