  1. Please refer to these links and you will learn that the US Navy aviators wear name on the left breast. This officer seems to be wearing a US Navy's flight suit (his name reminds me that he is the same officer Shiv covered in his blog earlier – he trained with the US navy and was covered by Shiv as the first Tailhooker in the 'new mould' – apparently he just used the place on the flight suit to put his tally) – http://www.carterny.com/index.php/us-military-fire-resistant-flight-suit-nomexr-cwu-27-p.html, http://www.ehow.com/about_5393518_navy-flight-suit-regulations.html

  2. Yes, indeed. The officer has also been covered by today's papers as the one who did the flight evaluation of the MiG-29K thereby becoming the first foreigner that the Ruskies let touch their prized (only single seater prototype then) MiG-29K prototype way back in April 2002. Of course, they must also have been governed by commercial considerations! He also figures under the Wikipedia coverage of the Indian Navy's SPAT (Sagarpawan Aerobatic Team) as the founding leader of the Team. Too many firsts on him – first on the Kay, first Navy's tailhooker on a US Carrier and founding leader of the Sagarpawan – the only second Navy aerobatic team in the world. Lets not get this officer and his name tally involved in these discussions – he seems to have done enough to know what he is doing!
