LiveFist Readers Want F-16 Out First!

Emotions? Specs? The PAF angle? Whatever. In the poll I had here, out of 845 votes polled, a whopping 59% thought the F-16IN Super Viper should be the first bird kicked from the MMRCA competition. Interesting. Only 41 voters wanted the Gripen yanked, making it the most popular craft in the competition on the blog. Of course, in an earlier poll, LiveFist readers decided that the Rafale should win the competition.

  1. This simply shows that results on such polls are inconsistent. The voting sample does not know what it wants and keeps changing its mind.

Assuming same group responded to your previous poll the general public is as privy to sensitive information today as it was, may be, on day one of these tests. This simply substantiates the observation made above.

It also proves that decisions on such complex matters should be best left to experts.

These polls are futile exercise and at the end of the day means nothing.

Shiv, good ploy to draw traffic to your website! 🙂

  2. I guess the fact news is littered with LM's intention to supply the TSP 18 additional f-16 and then issue a statement F-16's given to India are much more advanced must have hit hard.

besides the fact of sanctions friendly uncle, may also have impacted the decision of the visitors. Curious to know YOUR choice to be knocked out first.. Can u pls share it ?

  3. I must actually call you on this one. You are drawing a conclusion not supported by your data. That gripen is the least liked to be the first to go does not make it the favorite. It only means that most agree its not the worst.

  4. The IAF should not choose US aircraft we'll lose our sovereignty with their end-user certificate.better buy the MIG-35,Rafale or the Gripen unless the spineless govt bows down to US arm twisting.

  7. F-16 should be out simply becoz it is an old design…

no matter how much u improve upon it it wont ever compete with the 4th gen fighters. period.

hence its ass should be kicked out the country.

  8. Pakistan wants 14 more F-16 Block 52's after the entire lot of 18 aircraft are delivered in a year or two . moreover the vintage F-16s of the PAF are being upgraded in batches in Turkey to the Block52 standard. No way India should buy the F-16 or the F-A-18 instead the IAF should consider the Gripen. Will they be able to afford an aircraft like the Typhoon or the Rafale that too in a larger number(126) since they would operate as many as 270 or more SU-30 MKIs.MRCA selection would definitely be a political decision .

  9. @the bugger you know what the stupid readers of this blog say to you F***.
Nobody who is sane and is patriot wants India to give the MRCA to USA because of the latter intrusive checks we are a free and proud nation not another US satellite.

  10. Folks –

We want the decision fast . Why cant we simply immediately order

    1. 60 Gripens in the Air Defense Variant to maintain the force strength and replace the defunct Mig 21's who have outlived their lives.

    2. 60 Mig 29k's to take over shore and ship based naval aviation and replace the Jags and Mig 27's in these roles.

    3. Ignore the LCA and consider it as a gift from heavens as and when it comes.

    4. Increase the MKi strength to 15 squads.

    5. Create an auxilliary branch of 100 light attack aircraft like Tucano / Hawk 200 / M346 to give depth to our ground attack squads and provide point defense . May sound foolish but let women pilots be dominant here.
    6. Select the MMRCA

    Regards
