  2. @Anon 2.52 Another jealous Paki burning with hate. Even USA doesn't have this tech. The last Hypersonic AC it flew failed. Now India is in the same league as other developed nations as far as space tech is concerned.
    We are also building a spaceplane called AVATAR which make it's 1st flight next year. Be happy with ur chinky JF17 aka Best Plane In Da Wurld.LOLZ

    No this is not the AVATAR.AVATAR is an unmanned spaceplane whereas this is Hypersonic aircraft.

  6. This is HSTDV not AVATAR. There are two parallel hypersonic projects running:

    1.) HSTDV – DRDO
    2.) ISRO – AVATAR (HEX – Hypersonic Experiment is a pre-cursor)

    Both programs are about demonstrating sustained hypersonic speeds using Scramjet. DRDO is using help from Israel, ISRO is going alone, but they might be having some inputs from Israel too, though not openly published.

    DRDO's project is all about a pre-cursor to a hypersonic unmanned bomber. ISRO is about air-breathing rockets to make the rockets lighter and cost effective. Both are proceeding in their own way.

    The best part is that a sustained scramjet combustion on ground has been performed by both ISRO and DRDO for 6 seconds on ground. They are trying to make it last a little bit longer in air at an altitude of 32 km.
