IAF Floats UCAV Procurement Bid

The Indian Air Force has published a request for information (RFI) for an unspecified number of unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs). The IAF says it’s looking for a modern high-endurance single/twin engine stealthy UCAV, with a satellite data link and an internal weapons payload, in other words just like AURA, India’s indigenous UCAV programme. Trying to figure who they could’ve sent the RFI to. Full text of RFI with perimeter specs:

  1. The beast of Kandahar maybe?

Apart from Boeing and LM….who else?
The killer part is the internal weapons bay…..hmmm

    Lungikawasta

  2. hehehehe, forget AURA….why Airforce is in such a hurry?? all the forces are doing is buying weapons..do they have any strategy.

  3. Nobody can sell us UCAV because of MTCR restrictions.
RFI may be just to get information on such systems so that GSQR can be prepared for DRDO AURA.

  4. @anon 9.09am – no, they just want to buy them so that they can store them in the hangar so it looks good for inspections. What do you think?

  5. That drawing looks childish. It detracts from this website and its professionalism. Why don't you wait until there is an actual artists impression. It looks like a 6th grade kid doodling at recess. Please remove it.
