  1. Anonymous@4:34 – I couldn't care less if our commandoes looked like Jarawa tribals dressed in straw skirts as long as they got the job done. The silly Paki dumbfuck that you are, you don't have an iota of knowledge about MARCOS and the success they have had from Sri Lanka, Maldives, Kashmir to Aden to 26/11, besides several other covert ops they've participated in or led.
Your kind are best left staring at some gay porn site getting "high", if you know what I mean. Your kind would look at a picture of Hrithik Roshan from Lakshya and arrive at a conclusion that Indian Spec Forces "looked" better in the late 90's. LOL

  2. @ Anon 4.34

Take a bath, it is war, not a fashion show get real it is not reel war the our Commandos fight, in Kashmir, in Gulf of Aden, in North East

  3. From the camouflage clothing to eye gears, shoes and knee caps are something like value addition for the soldiers. They help them to perform better during operations.
Our special forces even though highly trained and invincible, they lag even basic stuffs like night vision goggles, wireless communication devices etc. (Even in 26/11 they used the walkie talkie sets). We must equip them and guarantee their safety during operations.

  4. WHAT DOES REALLY MATTERS IS ABILITY .STUNNING EQUIPMENTS IN LESS TRAINED OR EXPERIENCED PERSON IS A WASTE OF RESOURCES.THING MATTERS IS PERFORMANCE .REMEMBER KARGIL WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME …..

  5. THE THING WHAT MATTERS IS ABILITY.STUNNING SHINE OF EQUIPMENTS WONT PLUG THE TRAINING GAP .TI DOES NOT MATTER IF YOUR FORCES ARE WELL EQUIPED REMEMBER VIETMAN

  6. yes anon 4:34 & 8:28, with that sucky equipment only we had taken 90,000 well trained ultra modern equipment wielding brave pakistani soldiers prisoner back in 1971..we feel really sorry 4 u dude.. so much anger but donno where to vent.. after all what 2 do.. with USA in ur backyard bumping off ur colleagues in drone attacks.. we can understand ur frustration.. just pray that these people whom u call ill equipped don't show u a repeat telecast of the brightest diwali that Karachi has ever witnessed..in case u forget..

  7. Unbelievable, comments like:

"I couldn't care less if our commandoes looked like Jarawa tribals dressed in straw skirts",
"Take a bath, it is war, not a fashion show", "Your kind are best left staring at some gay porn site"

It is this type of callous Indian "Chalta hai" attitude that saw Jawans sent to fight China in 62 in the bitter cold with cotton uniforms.

When I served in the Australian reserves (I am of Indian origin)
I got an SLR rifle and the real Army got the Austeyer I wanted that gun. When we finaly got it we felt better and it uplifted our moral. When we got kitted up we felt stronger and even invincible (example when I wear gloves I feel I can lift more when at the gym).

So to those who think it does not matter or they move slower with all the equipment, wake up give our guys some pads at least so they dont hurt them selves getting on and off boats etc.

One last thing I hear "our Marcos are the best in the world"..Blah Blah. Every country has elite units and they are all good the better performing ones are the ones with the best tools & moral to do the job…Also numbers matter. So give some credit where it is due to the South Africans they look the part and are probably very effective.

  8. The geardo fascination still continues. The one piece of equipment our guys really lack is Eye-protection, at least as per pics see.Rest we have in some form or the other.

  9. For all those jokers claiming NSG or our Special Forces took too long on 26/11 to neutralize the turdballs, let me tell you this. If the "show" wasn't allowed to run for 3 days straight, we wouldn't have gathered enough evidence to flog Pakistan with their own stick. Remember, the incident had geopolitical ramifications and it wasn't merely a random dhamaka which their cowardly ummah brothers from India helped perpetrate and perpetuate.
Those diving goggles look good. But mind telling me how they would help outside water? Oh me forgets, would save them from complete blindness when the terrorists tranform into Djinn's and emit blinding light or wait, will save their eyes from injury in tight corners what with all that wood and metal splinters flying around?
Do you seriously think we didn't have a single night vision goggle during 26/11? They could have turned the lights out at Taj and gone after them. But then, how would we have those hours of telephonic conversations between the 26/11 turdballs and their equally cowardly handlers back in Pakistan?
Last but not the least, if Indian forces were allowed to buy equipment with their own money, then they gladly would. But you know how things work in India now, don't you? So why blame the forces? Blame the Sarkari babu sitting in MoD who strikes down every little proposal thats sent to them. Hey, even 2 percent of GDP is too high for a poor country like India no? You should be happy our soldiers at least have guns to fight with and not catapults like David. Jai Ho!

  10. Just look at the first guy in the photo!Where are his Elbow Pads!It appears he would rather have it out of the way!I think the really crucial items are ,head, face(where practical and possible) eye protection and body Armour.Rest are embellishments.

  11. @anon 6:06 AM

Absolutely right. But the problem these days is that there are too many RATshakers flooding the country and blogs and forums who post crap. Their chalta hai attitude is why most of our equipment looks crap. Sure it has to have functionality but it also must be aesthetically pleasing. This is one reason foreign vendors impress our forces, not just functionality but also appearance. What do these RATshagger morons know? (for those who dont know, RATshakers hail from a forum called bharat-ratshak)

  12. MARCOS are Special forces not ramp walkers. It does not make difference whether you have an MP 5 or an AK 47 if you are trained to shoot to kill and that too in the first instance. Having said this let the junkies in this blog know that what they saw with the MARCOS is only 10% of the actual equipment. What sort of other equipment they have need not be revealed on this forum. But be it assured that either the MARCOS or the NSG or the SFF or the 9th Paras are all well equipped with best of the equipments available in the world. Let us not judge by helmets, elbow pads or goggles. The operation by the MARCOS in the gulf of Aden does not demand any hight tech weaponry. since most of their operations are at close quarter any CQB weapon like MP 5 or the Uzi would do. The Moment the pirates see INS Delhi most of their liquid is drained out.
Most of the bloggers I find here are not well informed. Their responses and judgment are knee jerk ones at not on merits. at the outset every Special Force has equipment meant for the task or the mission. MARCOS is definitely one of the finely honed special forces unit. During the Operation in Jaffna University during IPKF days a team of elite MARCOS landed up with a tough mission to clear the coastal read of LTT cadres to give relief to a brigade besieged in Jaffna Fort The operation which lasted for few hours saw almost 200 LTTE cadre dead. In their entire spn of 22 years of existence the MARCOS have lost only 3 men. That spraks of volumes of their capabilities. As far as those South African are concerned, they look more like participating in a cycle race rather than conducting an operation.

  13. A lot can be said here but before we go off on several tangents, I have a few questions –
    1) Foreign vendors impress our forces because they are superior in functionality and appearance as well? Alright, which particular product are you talking about, here? As far as CQB weapons go, our forces have MP5s and UZI's. The uber elite SPG are better equipped because they provide security to our Netas. As for tanks, enough muck has been thrown all around w.r.t the Arjun and T-90 so I wouldn't even bother treading there.
    2) Soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan have found the 5.56×45 mm to be less effective in firefights. If you hear the rumblings from within our own forces, they've been saying the same that the 5.56×45 has issues with stopping power. Now, why did we switch to 5.56x45mm in the first place? Who were we following? The West or some Aliens who landed in the Indian subcontinent and shared a secret with us that the 5.56x45mm is the ultimate silver bullet for armed conflicts where riflemen come into play? A lot of sections in Afghanistan have soldiers armed with 7.62x45mm rifles which are proving their worth again. The talk about 7.62mm being a logistics nightmare and each soldier having to carry less ammo because of its size is all hogwash. Any real soldier who has used a rifle and been in a conflict with bullets flying all around would vouch by the lethality of a 7.62x45mm. Why are our forces still using "vintage" AK-47s in J&K? How come the Mujahids are still inflicting casualties in fire exchanges with NATO forces, leave alone the roadside bombs and mines and booby traps. Firefights with Mujahids has accounted for a large number of casualties too.

  14. As for the Australian Reservist of Indian origin and his fondness for "phoren" maal goes, any jingo would love to go full auto from his hip. Its a very MALE thing to tell you the truth. But does Ozzy Army have any real battle experience worth talking about? Oh yes, Afghanistan.
The simple thing about using gloves in the gym is the superior grip it gives you when handling smoothed metal with a coat of nickel or paint. Haven't you seen our guys using gloves in Kashmir, particularly during the encounters?
I never said MARCOS is the best. I said they have plenty of battlefield experience and they know what equipment to use against the adversary they are up against. They aren't a bunch of school kids whose doctrines are devised by academicians and civilians alike who would shit their pants when real lead starts flying. Feedback and opionions are always welcome but having some joker lording over the forces is certainly not acceptable.
Pads to keep them from getting hurt when boarding and de-boarding ships? That would depend on the route one takes to get in, right? Otherwise pads are a hindrance. As simple as that. If they are comfortable with it, they will use it. If not, they won't. Let them decide.
As for the rest of you Nat-Geo and Discovery watching morons having Ultimate Weapons decide your doctrine and procurement should go back to your PS2/3's and Commando comics.
I hope it lifted a lot more of your morale and not your moral,Mr.Australia. Besides, quoting a retort against someone isn't such a smart thing to do. Too bad, you couldn't tell an obvious retort from a regular post.
If equipment alone can make people invincible, then the American GI's wouldn't be tossing aside their body armour to get in/out of action in Afghanistan despite strict orders not to do so. If equipment alone makes one feel invisible, then maybe its the equipment which is responsible for the casualties the US and its allies faced in Iraq and Afghanistan, right? Did they act irresponsibly like GI Joe's, what with the obviously superior equipment making them feel, well, invincible? Were they charging at the bad guys like lil quixotes? Why? Well, I'll leave it for you all to go figure, all you keyboard warriors.
One last Q – What do you consider is better? Equipment which suits a particular mission or equipment which is only for a photo shoot which in all likelihood would be a hindrance in real action?
Now, only if someone could give better BPJ's to our army blokes, CPO's and paramilitary types which provide real protection from real bullets and not those fired from air pistols, I'd save myself a few more rants.
Anonymous@7:37 PM, appears kissing ass comes quite naturally to you. Now, do you give good head too?
Shiv, please let this post be….

Hear that Mr. Aroor? You are a 3rd rate "ddm" if you post anything negetive about DODO or any indian project. The only criticism can ever come from a qualified bharat-RATshaker. This is because he has spent several hours trolling through google links to help him become an expert.

    Meanwhile,

With RATshaggers like these, who needs paki enemies?

Criticism is always good, it should be used to make things better – ofcourse it should be educated and not just the crap they post on pakidefence forums.

  20. No one is denigrating our servicemen, but in comparison to these SA commandos they are definitely under equipped. SAs have more number of safety gears. Remember Late Inspector Salaskar criticizing the quality of our bulletproof jackets? And he was proved correct.
Btw, these exercises are to share the best practices. We have trained with the best forces, but our forces have still a long way to go to eqp our personnel properly.
Earlier somebody had pointed out that we need to change those WWII era DM boots and clothing with something that will keep our soldiers comfortable in extreme climates where they have to go without bath for weeks and at times even months. This is the least we can do for our tough uncomplaining brave Jawans. We need to get them kneepads and decent bulletproof jackets.
IA open your eyes and take action. Get rid of your inertia.

  21. even americans didnt won in vietnam or are not winning in afganistan with so called "modern" equipments.Only training makes soldiers best, and ithink ours are one of the best.they are battle proven.

  22. @Anon9.16 AM
You mean it is OK to garb our soldiers with chappals and pajamas? This is/was the garb of Taliban and VC. Come on man talk sense. Our troops need better dress which will keep them comfortable in extreme climates of India. Good soldiers is not an excuse to dress them like coolies.

  23. @ anon @ 1248…
He didnt say that…appropriate equipment is the need…
go find out what the soldiers in siachen wear…they wear a bit more than chappals n pajamas…

u have only see men in regular uniform..not specialized…

    @ all…
Police is another matter….dont mix that with soldiers…
