  1. seems like a mix of PAK-FA and F-35.
if the engines are up to the job, it may very well end up superior to F-35, esp. in A2A combat.

  2. lca mk2 looks much like more round version of gripen but it is very much awesome than gripen. If AESA radar adds to lca mk2 HAL can sell a lot of this steel bird foreign market. I bet of lot countries are waiting for fighter like this state of art, agile , small, multirole, lethal and above affordable.
AMCA have killer looks i cant wait to see this bird on Indian sky.

  3. A stupid questions guys:
Is AMCA supposed to be primarily air superiority fighter or strike fighter.
Don't say multirole, I am asking about its primary function.
    Hope its a strike fighter.

  4. I want the MK2 to atleast be able to equal Gripen NG's and kick F-16IN's butt and not be yet another Mig 21++. The AMCA needs to be real stealth and not just "stealthy design" and needs to kick J-20s butt.

  5. @ Sona

Its very likey AMCA will be a strike fighter. From the looks of it seems to have extended fuselage compared to LCA and twin engine for heavier strike weapon load. The stealth design will be very effective to evade ground radar during deep strike penetration mission. However it is easier to modify an air superiority fighter for ground attack then to do the opposite. A good multi role fighter has to be designed for air superiority and then tweaked for ground strike capability as was the case with the Mirage 2000. If AMCA is to be a multirole then it will have to be designed for air superiority. But my guess is air superiority roles would already be fullfilled by Su-30MKIs, MMRCAs and FGFAs. I dunno why we would need another air superiority fighter. And I am guessing AMCAs would be replacing Mig 27s and Jaguars.

  6. i BELIEVE THAT JAPAN SHOULD BE ROPED IN THE AMCA PROJECT AS THEY ARE DEVELOPING SOMETHING SIMILAR AND CO-DEVELOPMENT CAN MAKE THE PROCESS FASTER AND CAN PROVIDE A GOOD EXPERIENCE TO THE INDIAN SCIENTISTS OF HOW THE JAPANEESE ARE SO EFFICIENT.

  7. Like the guy above said, the government should try to assemble a joint project with Japan, Sweden, France, Brazil.. As many countries as they can get. The F-35 is a 10-nation project. To get that kind of quality we must pool our resources.

Japan is also studying 5th gen fighter designs, and so is Sweden and France. On our own ADA/HAL will take 20 years to deliver AMCA. It's best to team up.

  8. it looks like that the AMCA design is not the official one, i have some photos of aeroindia which show a different one, and it looks cooler than this one, and the AMCA is a multirole

  9. EADS MAKO HEAT is great Design for Stealth plane need to opt that with twin engine or for LCA varient will make it top class (german enginnering is wonderful
we took help of german to design and produce marut 1) how's that.

  10. Pic of AMCA is old one- the new one's wings are trapezoidal completely like in the YF-23. I hope they get the EJ200 Tranche-3 TVC engines for AMCA! GE not agreeing to 100% ToT or setting up base in India it appears…

  11. MK2 & AMCA look great but production lines for these aircrafts should be set up parallely to avoid delays..all of these are different fighters and their development should not be dependent on each other..only then can Indian development move faster..
