  1. this is like "sher aya, sher aya"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    hope it's not a billi !!!

And, miss your daily updates……..(moving on to bigger/better things, aka Prasun ????????)

  2. Ah, the inflated ego of the blogger.

Some day your statement may become a self fulfilling prophecy, Mr Aroor, and you will only have your attitude for company then.

Make no mistake you write for the audience and the response. Learn to respect both.

  3. one can wait but dont let these teasing lineups on ur blogs.u have set high standards 4 ur blogs.there are lots of sites available on net ,the diff is quality which we get here .please dont degrade it.anyway wjhatever be the case definately i will be reading ur blogs

    Hi Shiv,

I always ranked you as one of the best defense journalist in India. However, your last comment did changed my thoughts and it might be your very person comment and we all should just accept as it is(“sorry chaps. if you can't wait, you're welcome not to visit.”). But I have to tell something and I don't mean to show you down, as a journalist you should have used a better words secondly I have noticed when we ask you to get some info about a different thing, you never get back to us with the details. So, In my opinion you just give us what ever you have and folks please do not put extra pressure on Shiv.

Thanks Shiv for all of your hard work to keep us posted.

  5. Shiv ,
Does india selected Spike instead of javelin anti-tank missile or any idea to go for Javelin separately in FMS route

  6. Shiv, your blog is increasingly boring after Libyan crisis. Pls concentrate on Indian staffs. Update us on IAC, P-15A etc.

  7. Heck, it took so long now let them take final look carefully as the last fews days are absolutely critical in a deal. It is ofcourse a legendary deal critical for our defense future and hurrying wont do any good so lets wait and watch.
Remember-The patient hunter gets the prey.

  8. cool, point taken people. i can understand how a coming up post just hangs in the air. the post will be up saturday (right before the cricket match :D)

Oh, and for those who thought my previous comment was arrogance. None whatsoever. Have a beer, man!

  9. Shiv can do little about something over which he has no control. If the MOD is delaying in declaring the results of MMRCA competition, then why take out your frustration on poor SHiv? He does his best to give us "inside" information. His blunt comment has hurt some people's ego.

  10. Will the MOD decision on downselects for MMRCA happen during early April as announced earlier?

Is your coming post on the inside information you have or about the actual MOD downselect decision?

  11. @striker 5:20 that was funny but I agree. From commisioning ships and submarines to buying MMRCA to PSLV/GSLV launch. Everything is late. Sorry, but couldn't help the hissy fit.

  12. I am so fuckin tire with this MMRCA.

Just cancel this entire MMRCA bullshit and go order 5 squadrons of brand new Mig-21s.

  13. Yah Shiv, waiting for tomorrow's MMRCA news before the cricket match:)…same time I like to know about whether Spike missile have been short listed.Hope Rafale win the contest as France is willing to transfer entire technology including source code.

  14. Guys relaxxxzzz,,why r u taking ur frustration on the blogger,,this is india bhailog,,everything is slow,,and then some more delays(sadly),,so u get frustrated as u all r expecting high western standards ,,,dont expect this contest to be over for another many months,,i feel there will be lot of confusion after the announcement and more delays(which i hope not),,so take a chill pill

  15. F18 – Americans cannot be trusted and limited TOT.

F16 – Americans cannot be trusted and limited TOT.

    Eurofighter – No spears.

JAS 36 – Parts and Engine outsourced from other countries always issue.

Mig 35 – Not up to the mark.

Rafale – Full TOT the winner.

Any of the above aircraft will do the job of MIG21. All India requires is technology. Integration of Kaveri engine will further improve its performance and reliability. Rafale is the best choice for India.

  16. Excellent comments from Paul. The TOT from Rafale deal is worth it alone.

Gosh, the suspense is almost as good as the WC final (not really)!
