  1. Oh! not again!!!!KAI is not well known compared to Pilatus? why are we ending up like this in every deal?
all defence deals have become bhendi and baingon affair!! how KAI came to know about the inadequacies in the bid supplied by pilatus? One vendor doesn't know what the other has quoted. so how come KAI came to know? that means somebody gave info to KAI to scuttle this deal also ???
    My go save this country.

  2. Why can not these tendering and purchase processes be made some kind of automatic and computerized, wherein any override may be allowed only with transparently written orders with due reasons and explanations from the competent authority. Otherwise why everything gets delayed while coming under the clouds.

  3. First let the Swiss Govt declare the details regarding the Swis bank accounts.Else, it does not make sense to deal with their companies.

  4. BTW, if HPT-32 are really returning back in to action in sufficient numbers, then even the cancellation of this tender may be justified.

  5. [email protected], no bank in the world, not even an Indian bank, will part with any banking details regarding its clientelle unless and until it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that the money parked in such accounts is ill-gotten wealth. Merely having offshore accounts does not mean the money parked in such accounts is ill-gotten. For a country that invented and institutionalised the 'Hawala' system, trying to prove allegations of money laundering or tax evasion is legally an impossibility. Had it been possible the Maran brothers and airlines like SpiceJet would have been history long ago. Therefore, before pointing one finger at Switzerland and joining the dhongi Baba Ramdev's band baaja baraat, do take of the other four fingers pointed at India and ask what caused some Indian citizens and corporate entities to stash their incomes abroad, how can the money be brought back and invested within India purely by voluntary means, and why on Earth can't India create her own offshore financial haven within her own soil (like the UK and US).

  6. well i saw this image just need to clarify is that spcial ops guy is holding m4 sopmod anyone plese comment

  7. India can't make even a propeller driven aircraft and dreams of becoming a super power. Something isn't right here.

  8. Here we go again. Any idiot can make any accusation and some other idiot can take cognizance and claim "we are loking into it". Meanwhile K8s, JF17s, J10s, J11s dominate the skies around us. We cant decide on a simple trainer purchase without muck raking – how on earth are we going to do any damn thing ! I am only waiting for the inevitable backlash when the MMRCA winner is announced.

  9. Again?!! I thought they had a template for fairness in these contracts aka MMRCA template.

Those poor IAF trainees, now they have to start training on those crap HTT's.

  10. Anonymous 7.41, I share your anguish but I am afraid God only helps those who help themselves, so he is not going to waste time on us.

I know of no other country whose vital national interests are held hostage by all and sundry foreign vendors. An italian comapny was able to go to the supreme court and hold back IAF airfield modernization by three years! A single unsigned letter by an unknown person to the Army Chief has derailed the meagre 145 ULH acqusion. Our arty mordenization is atleast 2 decades over due and is now perhaps the worst in the world and will cost thousands of lives in a conflict but who cares. Its not the babu's and politicians or their near and dear ones who will pay the ultimate price.

We need to get rid of the babus if we ever want our nation safe.

  11. They should speed up the procurement of basic trainers no more delays the IAF can hardly wait fornew planes.

  12. @Dexy 9:32 PM

In that pic, the plane with a tilted mustache seems to be staring at the photographer.

  13. Looks like South Korea does not know all the deals are made under the table….
SHAME SHAME we say we can produce LCA aircraft … look we cant even make a trainer and Gov will not give private sector any chance also
    Rule of the game
actual cost of place – 1$
money under the table – 99$

will the plane get delivered in time — hmmmm no
because of delay pay up $100
again the money given to manufacurer is 2$ ..money under the table – 98$
    Final deal
    actual cost $1
    brought for $2
money taken under the table — 197
Place delivery : 2020 ( well it no use anyway) so we need a new plane.

end result — soldier use stick to fight with china and pakistan

  14. Korean entities and Chaebols hava a far worse record of corruption than the Swiss firms ever had.It is so frustrating that any letter or complaint can derail the entire process.I think we should have a clause that in case any of the allegations turn to be false later, the complainant firm be banned totally from all future and heavily penalized and prosecuted for wasting public time and resources. If this is the state with just CVC,CBI being around ,if the Lokpal comes to reality than we can say good to all defence deals for a 100 years!

  15. Confirmation been given that deal will go ahead as normal while investigation will be done simultaneously. So chill buddies, these things happen in multi-billion contracts as there is a lot at stake for those companies.

  16. @ prasun ,bhai dont point fingers at any one without knowing or doing anything for society. Do what you do the best, just do simple defense reporting.

  17. When the price bids are opened, all vendors attend the bid opening event, where the price bids of all vendors are read out in presence of all bidders. This is quite fair system of our government. If the Swiss has not quoted some prices, definetly it would have been read out in presence of all vendors. I assume this issue cropped up from there. If this true, then really swiss guys are trying to play with India, restricting indian vision to become selfdependent by not giving technology transfer. Anyhow no doubt the Korean aircraft is good one when I visited their website and read about their aircraft and where all it is used. Question is, we need old 70s~80s technology from swiss or the latest technology from koreans? Remember these aircrafts will run for another 30 years. But yes I agree with you, Koreans dont know Indian business of under the table. hahaha. Poor guys!!!

  18. is it true guys, one of the owner of this swiss trainer aircraft company is the same guy who was the owner of bofors company when the bofors scandal was done in india?

  19. @All:

Quite frankly, the reporter in this case shot from his hip. After listening to his source in MoD, he just couldn't wait to start banging the key board. As a responsible correspondent (?), he should have checked with the PRO. Pity, since he seems to have egg all over his face now.

The South Korean Company's allegation was expected but also baseless. The CNC was flawless, M/S Pilatus seem to be on track.

  20. TO DHRUV: It's you that's pointing fingers by claiming that others, myself included, do not know or do anything for society! As I had said earlier, while you're pointing a finger at others, the remaining fiures are pointed toward you. You just proved my point, thanks!!!

  21. @Anon 7:04 Thanks for the heads up. I never understood why people always try to defame each other the moment they get chance. Some short of guilty pleasure perhaps?
Nice to know deal is still on track.

  22. @ prasun ,ok go to haridwar at patanjali, you will better know what ramdev has done .ghar baithe bolna bahut aasan hota hai.atleast that person has the guts ,do u have!@ prasun ,ok go to haridwar at patanjali, you will better know what ramdev has done .ghar baithe bolna bahut aasan hota hai.atleast that person has the guts ,do u have!

  23. this stuff now happens for all tenders having many dealers. Cant wait to see what happens when MMRCA results comes out. One complaint will delay it for another 2 years.
