LCA Navy Flies, Landing Gear Up

ARCHIVAL PHOTO FROM FIRST FLIGHT / APRIL 27 / ©ADA
India’s LCA Navy prototype has flown three more times since its first flight on April 27, the last one with its landing gear retracted for the full duration of flight.

The LCA’s landing gear, as is well known, has been a problem that has delayed the debut flight, with scientists continuing to work on it. The ADA has in fact set up a specific technological committee to sort out issues with the landing gear.

  1. the naval tejas flight was restricted of maximum 22 minutes during the first stage, has it been increased in recently conducted stages?

  2. If the weight due to extra strong landing gear can not be reduced, then it should be allowed to land on a springing board. Lol…

  3. Good! The ADA needs to keep at it till they achieve the desired results. We are learning, and getting there. Don't stop!

    All the best!

  4. Its an naval version in development tested onto a purpose built runway of a carrier's similarity then why the landing Tejas wid parachute why not they tested wid tail hook. I think they must make the onground arrangements of an arrestor hook rather.
    What u say friends…………..??
