Frigate INS Tarkash Joins Indian Navy

Navy Statement: INS Tarkash, the second of the three stealth Frigates constructed at Yantar Shipyard, Kaliningrad Russia, has been commissioned and inducted into the Indian Navy by Vice Admiral Shekhar Kumar Sinha, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command on 09 November 2012 at Kaliningrad, Russia. The array of weapons and sensors onboard the ship include the supersonic Brahmos missile system, advanced Surface to Air missile system, upgraded 100mm medium range gun, optically controlled 30 mm Close-in Weapon System, Torpedoes, Rocket Launchers and advanced Electronic Warfare/Communication suite. The ship is commanded by Captain Antony George, an ‘Anti Submarine Warfare’ specialist. The ship will join the Western Fleet of the Indian Navy by December end, this year.

  1. Ghazi was not sunk by any Indian Navy ship…infact indians never knew it was in their backyard. It met with an accident and sunk. PN succeeded in getting it to the eastern coast of india…this is indeed a feat and indians know that. They are scared of PN. Kukhri was left to die by the fleeing indian navy ships after Hangoor got her.

    LOL,typical Pak fitrat again!Trying to squeeze in some fantasy as ever.In 1971 the PN got rogered by probably one of the most asymmetric margins in the history of naval warfare.Just ONE boat of the PN escaped destruction in the East and the PN was decimated in the west. Paks may like to ravel whatever fantasy they like, but that does not change the fact that the Ghazi ended at the bottom of the sea.In 1971 India is clear in victory,while Paki try to scrounge up some yarns to seek a consolation in the face of utter defeat.
