LCA Tejas Mk.2 At Aero India

  1. Clear, its seem the mk2 to be a poor 3G jet fighter, from basic light trainer, to be improve one level more, that is better than nothing, good experience for indian learning, tejas is the mirror of your know how, it seem not very high,
always a GE404 engine ? kaverie seem near of its deads, because obsolete core design. need to renew R&D egnine
When finish, China would already make many squadron of J20/J31, another level challenge much more high than India. They copy SU30 as J15 and so on, and they know well india standard jet fighter. Russia sell same jet fighter to China and mastering everything on T50, india make only dance show presentation on it. India seem have 10 years of delay on russia, 15 year delay on Europe, 20 years delay on USA.

  2. We must congrats HAL for developing LCH and Rudra so quickly and for those who think china can develope things faster than india must understand that chines simply copy russian designes. In house R&D is always good for long terms than taking short cuts.

  3. At review, it seem to be a bad copy of M2000, bahwhwhha, include refuelling absolut Dassuault Style.
You can buy M2000 and component licence, India would be faster and Dassault get royalties, win win contract.

  4. It is very important to get the MK2 flying in next 6 months. When we design the intakes they have to have 60% more air intake capacity than the maximum airflow requirement. The air intakes are almost the same size of MK1 and GE 414 IN6S5 needs far more air intake than GE 404 IN 20 . I understand they dont want to expose the engine upfront to hide the radar signature but the body can have inward curve like rafale to reduce the radar signature and still have bigger intakes. The fadec can be adjusted to thinner air of the Leh to have better performance and LCA would rule the skies. I laugh at the comments that china has developed this model and and that model. The body of plane contributes much less and most important are the engine technology and radar technology along of integration of the avionics and that is where China is behind at this stage.

    TIMBAKTOO

  5. Dunno why is DRDO so slow…LCA has been delayed again and again. People who think other countries just CtrlC+CtrlV others design should also understand that countries are technologically 20 years ahead of us both in aviation and missile technology. We still heavily rely on imported arms and ammunition. All indigenous projects have been successful prototypes…Nag, Arjun, LCA, LCH etc. I think there is complacency in the part of DRDO and other associated organization…as most qualified and capable engineers prefer going abroad…and whats left in India are generally the grade B ones. Their idea is to keep dragging the projects to their retirement.

  6. from the model it seems that mk2 has frameless canopy………
will it really have in production or it's just model feature

  7. Model Models Models – and that too not good ones. I was there and the quality of models was embarrassingly shoddy – compared to the booths of Russians, the scale Rafale , the scale Gripen !! If one were to go by what I saw at the fair – and its a fair and lets not kid ourselves – we should be self sufficient in all areas – but we cant even do Ctrl C- Ctrl V very well . And we call the Chinese as copycats only – but then look how far they have gone right down to stealth design. We suffer from the NIH syndrome – Not Invented Here . It has be a an Indian Wheel – so lets reinvent it ! Truly sad !!!

  8. DRDO needs DEDICATED MANAGERS and as for TEJAS it has the most flight safety record i.e. without any crash.
As far as for J20 if its not a technology demonstrator it needs machurity. Again stealth has limitations, u cannot attack before 20-30 km from target to remain undetected from RWR & your target can detect u by AESA or IRST(best for stealth detection beyond visual) with in that range. Nothing is stealth its low observable. An AESA of ranging 200 km can detect a stealth within 20-30 km but pilot must be aware.

  9. Sick and tired seeing models only…..it is understandable that R & D is not east, takes a while. For India, with very little experience in aviation technology, the achievements are not too bad.
However, it has been a steep learning curve.
And about 30 years for developing a plane is a long time in any sense.
Hopefully lessons have been learnt, and mistakes won't be repeated.

  10. LCA tejas looks great. Let's get this off the drawing board and build 10 prototypes now. Like the incremental growing up approach. Please continue the good work!

  11. The models show nothing but a Tejas Mk-1 with a refuelling probe. Thats all.

The actual changes included in the Mk-2 Tejas won't be noticeable in these poorly detailed models.

  12. Cool, but they will start work on Tejas mk 2 only when engines are delivered and the first batch of engines will be delivered by GE in 2014 so by that time HAL can only study the design in detail and make changes if they want to…and i see a lot of stupid a$$ comments here that buy this and buy that instead of making our own.. did you idiots forget the arms embargo and tech restrictions put on us in the past..

  13. tsss ! tsss! kaveri fail !

India's state-run Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has abandoned long-standing plans to power the indigenous Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) with its GTX-35VS Kaveri engine.

"The Kaveri engine will not be in the LCA being provided to the services," P S Subramanyam, head of the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) responsible for designing the Tejas, told the Press Trust of India in Bangalore on 30 January. However, he added that the Tejas would support Kaveri's future flight-tests and eventual certification.

The estimated 140 Mk I and Mk II LCAs likely to be inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) over the next decade will be powered by General Electric (GE) F404-GE-IN20 and F414-GE-INS5 engines respectively.

  14. Lagta hai hum bas model hi banate rahenge use operational nahi kar payenge and otherside chinies work on stealth technology………….Stop Tejas Project its old technology like 1966 American F-16.

  15. DRDO is proved to not it is just like other govt institution and has no quality or technical excellence . we are unable to built a 4 th gen fighter with so much foreign held and state fund… its just shameful. We must give private sector chance and govt must promote pvt indian companies to help competition …..

  16. yar koi batlayega v ki mk 1 project pura howa ki nahi, aur hal ne mk 2 ke model mein koi biger fer badal nahi kiya hai, like saab gripen,ek fin lagaya to ja hi sakta hai.aur iske indistion ki speed v itni slow hai lag raha ki ghonge ke speed hai.jab tak hum mk2 udagne, china kam se kam 2 fifth genration aircrft samil karne ki tayyri kar raha hoga.
