FLASH! India’s Nirbhay Cruise Missile Tested

FIRST ON LIVEFIST: India’s Defence Research & Development Organisation has just tested the Nirbhay cruise missile for the first time off India’s east coast at 11.50 IST. The 1,000-km range subsonic missile is a two-stage weapon system that has been under development for seven years. More details, first photographs and video shortly.

UPDATE @ 12.42PM: The test was NOT a success. The missile began to veer off its path about 17 minutes into launch, and the test missile flight had to be aborted. Groan.

  1. No worries on the test…issues can be sorted out in later attempts.

What does it look like??? Pls post some images. Very curious.

    Thanks.

PS – Rahul above is a f***ing braindead moron.

  2. @ Rahul – Well said. this quota thing is hurting our country in every sphere…but one failure does not mean the end of the world

  3. Well at first Nirbhay is no different from Tomahawk,DRDO should have developed Nirbhay in early 90's itself so as usual DRDO is late in business at least have DRDO designed a advanced stealth shaped cruise missile like AGM-129 ACM & if the test had been a failure it would have been appreciable.

Here DRDO is not able to successfully test a subsonic cruise missile itself.Shame even Paks have a cruise missile.

    Thumbs up to DRDO jokers…..

  4. @Anonymous 2:40: I don't mind getting such expletives from another quota system product who is even ashamed to reveal his true name given to him by his respected forefathers….
