PHOTOS: From The IAF C-130J Crash Site

Here’s a picture of the aircraft KC-3803 during the squadron induction ceremony over three years ago. Unspeakably tragic.

  1. What ever the reason it is really tragic. So many accidents in armed force in such a short span of time indicates there is some thing really wrong with the system. Even foul play can't be ruled out. Have read some where that some electronics of Canadian C 130 J were made in China. It was originally delivered by Lock Heed. Canada objected and eventually those PCBs were replaced by original American one. Anyway a tragic very unfortunate incident.

  2. When India brought the planes with the entire package: planes, maintenance and pilot training.

If it wasn't the plane's fault then it was the maintenance or the training.

Either way, Lock Heed Martin is at fault.

  3. Lets face the facts… There is genuinely something wrong with the Maintenance & Functioning of our Forces…
    Ships..Submaries.. Mig-21.. Jaguar.. Mirage 2000.. C-130J..
Probably the best are leaving for Foreign Shores and the rest have to run this Country / Armed Forces..
Its only a matter of time before C-17 comes down…

  4. Why are there so many civilians tramping around the wreckage? Isn't there a risk of good evidence being compromised?

Happens all the time in India.

  5. Tragedy must always present an opportunity for introspection.

IIRC you published a list of equipment that was not installed on these aircraft due to the Govt's refusal to sign CISMOA and other alphabet treaties with the US. While I cant recall the exact details would you be able to confirm whether the Terrain Following Radar system and Ground Collision Avoidance System which is standard issue for a Special Operations configured Hercules was included in this list?

IE: if reports are true that this was a low level training sortie where the presumably trainee pilot went too low and succumbed to Ground Effect and it turns out true that the very systems on this aircraft designed to prevent such things were absent due to a beauracratic hissy fit then…I have no hope for this country

  6. I am surprised there are no comments from the IAF that the bloody PSU's and the goddamn MoD are responsible for the crash of the Hercules. Surely IAF can do no wrong, ever.

  7. Trolls of the world unite!!! yaya!!!

if you hotrods think you all are so fucking smart, — join and change..Govt, MoD, IAF etc etc…

Sitting home in an armchair and farting comments is the fucking national pastime

    Uninformed shallow Morons..
which pilot deliberately crashes his aircraft??? Does Military aviation not have risks? Is the enquiry over? Can we grieve the dead before destroying their names and reputations?

Lets disband the whole setup and recruits these trolls for the job..
It will be the AAP and Kejriwal fiasco in another parallel field

Your beloved PAF is doing the following incompetent things for the past several years due to poor pilot training:

August 18th 1965- C-130b of PAF veered off runway while landing destroying plane.
April 30th, 1968-Crashed during turbulence near Chakala by PAF.
July 8th 1969- c-130 burned out during fueling near Islamabad by PAF.
Feb 1, 1979- PAF C-130 jumped chocks during engine testing on the ground and collided with another parked C-130. Both planes were destroyed.
Sept 1, 1998- PAF C-130 on ground went out of control after brake fire and collided into another C-130 destroying both planes and killing 5 PAF officers including both Pilots. From these accidents can judge the level of incompetence and poor pilot training of the PAF in operating the C-130.

  10. Anon @ 11.28AM,

Good and much needed response !!! Well done.

About the accident, loss of pilots and the aircraft is both a disaster. Not only we lost a 150 million USD plane but also lost some of the finest pilots, which will be hard to replace.

Lets wait for the reasons and see how we can improve. It can also be possible that the pilots were opening the limits of operational flying and the mishap happened. In a modernising military, such accidents cannot be ruled out.

    RIP to the dead.

  11. I dont buy that a competent crew like that can make some "human error" and crash a plane that modern. This looks less of a technical and more of a sabotage problem. Someone is playing dirty, first on subs, now on the planes.

    1. This is not new. The campaign of sabotage has been targeting the mig21 for years killing many brave pilots. It's time to put a stop to this.

  12. Guys, don't blame the government. It could be a human error or technical issues. That's all. Let GOD help their family.
