  1. Uniform cloth pattern and design are outdated. Doesn't add to the comfort. Guns are decades old and heavy. Even head gear looks world war II era

  2. I have to agree that compared to the US army, and most western armies that we have exercises with, our troops looked equipped with ancient, ill fitting and/or doughty looking gear.

I am sure some of the readers of this blog might recall the same feeling when our army went for joint exercises to China ( snicker!) – the Chinese troops looked much better equipped.

The kit, camouflage, web belts etc look like a throwback to the 70's and 80's, if not WW2!!

We spend 100s Crs on all sort of sundry wasteful expenditures. I am sure a good future combat infantry program for better gear, upgraded clothing, modern camouflage etc is the need of the hour.

The last RM was a spineless village bum .. he stopped 100 Cr contract for better running shoes for the soldiers on the frequent fig leaf of someone somewhere cried "unfair!"

The current RM has not yet started his role in earnest. RM is a specialised role. Arun Jaitely cannot do justice to the FM and RM roles whilst zipping in and out of hospitals.

  3. 4:24 onwards sterling SMG , for Ram/Allah/Christ/Wahe Guru s sake , can we have army equipment for our army and not 1960s police gear

  4. On the other hand this light grey MARPAT of the US army is really not serving the purpose of camouflage. Our Camo pattern is better in the woodlands. Of course in the desert both the American grey MARPAT and our DMP (jungle) would stick out like govindas dresses in the desert. I find that the PLA MARPAT or even the new PAK Army MARPAT is really good. Google the Pak army generals name and see the pics. Of course, the joke is that Pak Army and PLA are so scared of us that they have picked a really good camo pattern to hide from our troops. 🙂 Jai Hind brothers !!

  5. The INSAS Rifles had grenade launchers attached increasing lethality. I could not see any american having a grenade launcher affixed to their rifles.

Also, the M-16 and M-4 carbines are more prone to jamming than INSAS as documented by Iraq veterans. They aren't the best rifles for a hot and dusty climate like ours.

I have high hopes from MSMC and MCIWS new generation weapons developed in India.

  6. Indian army is looking very poor outdated shoes, assult rifles, dress and wear World War Two type helmet 40 years behind from us army

  7. Not a big deal guys !! Please stop criticising Indian Army .. we do have modern equipments, tactical gears, modern rifles and guns with our special forces like garud commandos, para sf, Nsg, Spg etc !! and once think wouldn't will to have new technology !!?!! yes we dream to have an army loaded with modern technology and moving in this direction and yes there are several back logs with us due to many reasons but The Indian Army stands guard for The Nation ….. Day and Night !! ?? ????? !!
