  1. The shoes litter all over the place, are these interns……..observing the plane or what??

Don’t tell me they are working on the plane like this!!!

  2. Sir,

These pictures are really very interesting and are exlusive one too. If possible can you please let us know on what date these pictures are taken. How many numbers of LSP are under construction till date.

  3. when i worked at lockmarts c-130 line it wasnt uncommon for ppl to remove their shoes and walk around the difficult to reach areas barefoot. the workplace seems pretty ok to me, standard aircraft rig and close assembly. later more rigs will be wheeled in place with the wings and connected to the fuselage.
nice to see women engineers, am not indian, but this is a good sign for ur country.

  4. those are aeronautical eng. students and really they would be regretting the fact that they are doing aeronautical eng. in india , a lucky few might escape abroard. hehe.

  5. Anon@5:24,

the LCA most likely would be unveiled internationally at Berlin in May-end. It was supposed to be at Paris last year itself, and at Singapore this year, but flight testing took priority, what with IAF breathing down ADA’s necks to get the Flight testing done faster.

With the new LSPs flying by April, i dont think there should be any hiccups in sending our baby to foreign shores, and they are going to do that for ILA-08. This was told to me by the ADA person at the DRDO stall at Singapore, so I’d guess its a guarantee, but if you want confirmation, Shiv will have to recheck with HAL.

  6. Very nice Pictures. So LSP-2 is almost integrated. Shiv, when are they planning the first test flight ? And why is LSP-1 taken all apart ? Looks like some major avionics update going on.

  7. anon, they are not aero students but fulltime HAL employees. i know it hurts some of the pak lurkers on this site – there was that pak guy buradiah who lives in saud and posts as titanium for example, on bigoted pak fora, but these are Hal employees, and they are dressed as such, and knowing a few of them, they are sincere at their job. aero students running abroad is a different thing. iitians – to be honest, have a very inflated sense of self and run for the high paying jobs or cool univs abroad, rest from tier 1.b or tier 2 are as good as, if not better at times, and hal and drdo still get people in plenty from them (and iitians too).

  8. Anon! i too was surprised by the tone of the comments from this so called “burdaiah”….he was sounding alien to me… his intentions are malicious and is trying to creat some kind of wedge with his weird postings…good that you have confirmed my suspicions that he is a paki!

  9. great pics Shiv..would be nice if you could also provide more info on the current status of the Tejas program since it seems that you have access to HAL’s facilities.

  10. Tejas is no more a light wt fighter in the word. Mirage 2000, Gripen 39 and even J10 weights less than Tejas. Ofcourse tejas is still the smallest fighter in the world. But evaluating its weight with size, it is the heaviest fighter in the world after adding more avonics as per IAF requirements.

  11. can anybody tell that what happened with lsp 3, it suppose to be ready in 2008, anybody have news about it.
