Tejas LSP-1 photos

Not sure if anyone’s seen these photos before. Just came across them posted on the ADA site — yes the notoriously slow one that takes ages and ages to open! Hadn’t seen these photos before myself, so I’m putting them here. Last one’s a beaut!

  1. anon: you’re right.. folks have probably seen it before. just that i haven’t so far, since i’m pretty bad at keeping track of photos on the net. incidentally, i didn’t nobody’s seen these photos. read what i’ve written again just so you know what i’ve written. either way, i like the idea of recording such photos on my blog no matter what. gives it a sense of a place where everything resides.

  2. Shiv,
Whats the status of LSP-2,3, and PV5. Seems HAL is taking ages to manufacture 8 planes. Also do you have any info. on whether the GE-404 IN20 has been test flown. And finally, whats the status of MMR ?

  3. anon: will check up on that. The IN20s will be test-flown with in July, and the MMR has officially become a joint venture with IAI-ELTA of Israel. In fact the first eight LSPs will be armed with the ELTA EL/M-2032 pulse doppler airborne intercept radar.

  4. Thanks for the info Shiv. So MMR will have some Israeli modules after all. Its good that the project is moving forward with 2032 as the interim FCR. Do you know anything on the Kaveri front ? JV process aside, what is the progress as far as the indigenous effort is concerned. last I heard K9 or something like that had achieved 90% of the thrust requirement.
    Thanks again.

  5. Shiv: Sweet photos! Why were these not circulated more widely by the media before?! I agree with you and don’t see how you showing it to an eager audience who obviously missed it hurts anybody. I personally cannot get enough of India’s baby bird.
