Next post on Monday

I’m gonna be busy getting the last of a virus out of my system, hopefully with some clean air, so won’t have time to blog till Monday. Have a nice weekend, all.

  1. Why don’t you use GNU/Linux Operating System. It is today easy to use than Windows XP and bullet-proof. It is used in stuff from MotoRokr E6 to IBM Supercomputer RoadRunner..
I suggest using Ubuntu GNU/Linux flavour.
    Good Luck. I havn’t seen a virus in my life-time as a GNU/Linux user.

  2. i wasn’t fucking talking about “virus fixing” dumbhead(anon2)..
Was suggesting to switch to a secure OS goddammit!!
    -anon1 🙂

  3. And Prashanth how do you plan to help him sitting in Chennai, even if he calls you?

And Shiv if you’re so unwell, then how come your post is timed 6.21 am…how come your up so early, and that too while being unwell…knowing you, you sleep late and till late, or did you have sex till late morning, dude…man what energy, even in sickness

  4. What will you be busy with even in your sickness? and where is clean air in Delhi, er in Vasant Kunj I mean?

And what are you blogging on , on Monday….see Indian Express is out in Kabul, so hold your stories till they come back so that your stories can be used in Express. Maybe he’s coming back on Monday, which explains your next post.

  5. Sheesh! The first mention of the word “virus” and the crowd starts talking about kompooters? What happened to good old infectious agents?

  6. the infectious agents have started affecting poor old Shiv which explains his two-week long sickness which appears more of a sham and pretence to bunk office than anything else.

Maybe a holiday presented to him by the agents is whats got him ‘sick’…as it is there are some from the defence journo fraternity who are on the pay rolls of MoD, the army and some on the pay-rolls of arms agents. He talks about half hour specials done after his return from the US and Russia, exposing the arms companies and their frauds…it makes me laugh.

Firstly he never advertises these kind of specials to any of his friends like he does his other programmes, mainly the fighter flying ones and am sure even the PROs who took him on international junkets are not made aware of them, and secondly what visuals does he use for these which no one gets to see expect his own office girls who think he’s a dude as he’s flown them and then exposed them.

  7. Shiv, you are yourself a big virus, which needs to be gotton out of this system.

You are affecting and harming a lot of people and their systems adversely, and need cleansing out. And these people, mind you, are not from the Government or MoD or the services as you may like to think, but your own personal people.

  8. ^^ People posting obscene comments should understand that they could be effortlessly tracked down and punitive legal action could be initiated. unless ofcourse you are a paki..

  9. ^^Jamming equipment is on its way to Rajasthan,Kashmir and Punjab. Until then help urself and continue the cultural exchange. Oops! Your are not accessing net via GPRS, may be u r blogging away straight from mullah-land. American Special Ops teams are on their way though, hav fun as much as u can. Life is short!

  10. Shiv, I guess its time to use that delete comment button again. I asked you for restraint but it seems no civilized discussion is possible without moderation.

On other note, Nag user trials are coming up. Can you use your contacts to do a photo op on it like Akash. I feel after the Arjun fiasco, the army cannot be trusted on its own. A vigilant media must oversee these critical tests in order to ensure goalposts are not shifted at the last moment. On the other hand a successful trial by fire for Nag in media presence will deny the army to seek “improvements without induction” in large numbers. Incremental improvements done in blocks is fine but to use improvements as an excuse to delay/defer induction is criminal. With media’s presence such efforts can be clearly exposed. If user trials are successful it has to induct good volumes of 4 km range Nag. BTW, DRDO has already working on Helina with a range of 7 km (a GSQR that Army changed for Nag).

  11. Whats ironical and smells of rot is that the army can bring out an RFP for 4100 ATGMs with 2 km range and yet has the audacity of asking for a 7km ATGM without inducting a 4 km Nag in volumes.

  12. If Nag goes the Arjun way one can easily expect the army to ask for a “Futuristic ATGM of 500 km range with mid course corrections”. It already has made a laughing stock of itself the way it has mishandled its armour needs

  13. Can Nag compete with Spike-SR? I don’t think so! The Army is checking out Spike for its (desert rats?)Special Ops forces and most probably will go for it. From the documentation Spike looks formidable, it even beat Javelin and new Milans in some tests. May be Nag is as good as dead unless they comes with a good seeker like mmw seeker or something like that.

  14. Agreed Nag may not be able to compare favorably with Spike, but hey what you say is from the brochures, it has not seen combat and neither has Nag, so lets give it an equal opportunity to prove itself . More than that, its this import fetish nature of the Army that’s what bothers me. To cover for operational deficiencies import by all means but it should not be at the cost of killing local projects by delaying them with ever changing GSQRs. Why can’t it be 4100 Nag and 443 Spikes why can’t it be 1500 Arjuns and 500 T 90s. For those who say Arjun is more expensive I say fine so be it but the money remains in the country, it creates jobs for our people and the money goes back into generating new capabilities, Whats wrong in that ?

  15. What the crap is going on here ? Washing someone’s dirty linen in full public view. This is not the place for such personal attacks and revelations. Guys, lets respect the privacy of a person. Revealing a person’s private life will not change the person nor will it do any good to anyone else. Character assassination just for the sake of Venting is not justified any day. We can be a little more civilized than that, don’t you think

  16. Anon at 2.59 am…by the way she’s not a pretty young thing…she’s a fat , bespectacled, ugly prostitute..Tavleen Singh…she’s fatter than Shiv by the way.

Shaili was prettier any day than all his girls, let me tell you. Two fatsos have got together

  17. Sab theek nahin hain ! Its this “Sab chalta hain” attitude only which has made this great nation of ours the way it is today. People have become so numb by their environment that they don’t care about any values whatsoever. Its easy to blame the political class for the current mess but what we as informed and educated intelligentsia doing ? Its high time we did some introspection.
