My eyes just mist over when I see these. What a beaut.

Tomorrow on LiveFist — exclusive images of the LCA Tejas flight that was aborted during its tarmac taxi during AK Antony’s visit to HAL as a result of inclement weather.

  1. Why is the weaponised ALH “magnificient” Shiv? I never understood what the big deal was. It’s just a gunship at this point. Can it fire a ‘Nag’ yet? That’s what I’d consider an achievement.

  2. india better buy 22 combat helicopter from russia cuz various
options r available just upgrade existing mi35 and buy additional
mi35 cuz it’s in production for venezuela and indonesia

or buy ka 50/52, mi28n no other country has this many options to show and western helos r costly too

  3. boeing left the indian helicopter competion for its apache helicopter cuz our contract was just of $ 500 million, but

boeing sold 24 apache helicopter to s.korea for $811 million and that was 60% less than the actual factory price and in this way each helicopter cost 33million

now just think what will b the actual price after adding that 60%

this was tha main reason that our tender is worth 500million for 22 combat helicopters and boeing knows that it can’t sell apaches at this low price thats y they left the competion

  4. dont listen to these rascals. beautiful photos. there’s not much more you can do with a platform like alh than to weaponise it the way hal has done it. so kudos to them and to whoever took these pictures. warms the cockles! jai hind!

  5. Talking of Nag on ALH, how is HELINA development coming? is it still on drawing boards? when would it progress to testing and integration ?!

  6. Shiv ask HAL to leave the design with some foreign firm then ALH will come out in better shape. May consider some firms in Jalandhar–yep. Can u believe this one is manually handled while manufacturing. Even maruti company also cannot imagine that kind of handling

  7. Breathes there a man with a soul so dead,

Who never to himself hath said,

A blue weaponised Dhruv, that’s my dream,

If I don’t have one, I shall scream?

(with due apologies to Walter Whatshisname)

    😀

  8. Hi, great photo’s………………by the way, what are the weapons that this Armed version of the Dhruv is carrying ??? or will carry ???

  9. Shiv, nice. Note that this bird appears to be carrying mockups of missiles, EO ball. The Gun appears real on the other hand. The pylons for the missiles are very crude tubular productions that appear to be proof of concept jobs. See detailed pics on Broadswords blog.

  10. Shiv,

    Can the WSI-Dhruv carry troops?

I have a hunch that the WSI-Dhruv are meant for the SF and not as general purpose gunships.

  11. it looks like shit…dosent look menacing enough..
looks like a KSRTC bus with bamboo logs attached to it.

look at Apache..design is shows an attitude…thats what happens when u have 60 yr old engineerings designing or weapons..

so get real..not everything is admirable…grow some balls to criticise..
