  1. shiv, why do u hav to report ur whereabouts every now and then….this is the age of computers and satellites…why don’t u wear a GPS tag..and hopefully spare us the intricacies of ur daily activities?

  2. Hi! Shiv
    though m all praises on yer efforts but was very disappointed to y’day see HT having ZZ Hamid as an Def Expert from pak. Plz guys cant u get some1 sensible on HT. It does no harm to ZZH but to HT wen u hv such ppl invited as Def Experts. Every1 knows who tht maniac is. I hope there r sensible ppl out there in Pakistan which u can get on HT.

  3. @Shiv,
    Have seen you doing a lot on Headlines Today (on 2611). Well done. How about doing something about the Ex-servicemen One-Rank-One-Pension….Please!! Their relay fast at Jantar Mantar has been totally ignored by the media.

  4. according to some people nowdays suddenly evenrything russian hardware

    tanks,aircraft,ships,subs,missiles,helicopters

    v have are piece of junk and they should be garbaged immidiately and bring in american stuff

    thats what they want to say

    but yes despite nuke deal america has not given a single gram of nuclear fuel to us while 2000 tons of nuke fuel deal done with russia

    but never ever ask nuke subs from america

  5. Shiv, thanks for the coverage. done! Please be sure to take pictures of any ship models along with data boards and posters with ADS graphics. Can you find out what the proposed sensor and weapons suite is?

    Thanks in advance.

  6. I have been waiting for this day for a long time. Thank you for posting all the artist’s impressions. They look great. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks again for all your stuff.

    One other comment, I think the Russians could go f*** them self. $2.9B for 20 y/o aircraft carrier. F*** you!!!

  7. Russian wankers should be given the one finger salute..
    This is worse than American sanctions.
    These bastards are taking us for granted..We should cancel this contract..and ask to compensate for screwing up the contract. They are doing the same thing for Sukhoi-30MKI “deep license”,AJT-Sitara’s engine ToT, and T-90 ToT.I think we should place an immediate order for a medium carrier with Britain,Japan or South Korea, so that we will get it completed around same time-frame as Air-Defence Ship from CSL. Mig-35 for M-MRCA is totally out of the window..if this is the treatment we are getting..We should stop buying Russian Junk. American or European airframes with Israeli avionics and weapon systems will do. Its great that now Israel is our biggest arms supplier. If Ukraine and Russia didn’t screw up on their IL-76 modification, and instead in hindsight select Boeing or Airbus for Phalcon radar,we could have been flying 2 AWACS today.

  8. @ anonymous 9:22 PM
    Who said we getting AKula in the contracted time frame..They are delaying it as well…Anyways we are getting our ATV on feet..so that’s a relief..

  9. Anon 11:08PM and 7:35AM

    Who told you guys that India is paying the extra 1.5 Billion for JUST the Gorshkov?
    Now don’t tell me that you beleive all the tripe that appears in DDM.
    This has been mentioned before, how did the payment for the two Akula submarines get payed, especially when both governments were denying any such arrangement even existed. How is the payment for the proposed Tu-22 fleet going to be delivered?
    Someone on BRF mentioned a deal for 4 Akulas, with two in active Indian Navy service, and two in reserve with the Russian Navy.
    Where is the payment to Russia and France for the ATV coming from? Both these nations are believed to have played important roles in the ATV program.
    Why is it that no prominent defense analyst has not come out with statements / articles criticising the Gorshkov ‘price rise’, given the unending nature of the saga – several kilometers of cabling caused the price to rise by a billion dollars – indeed!
    Please read between the lines before you commit anything in writing.

    each scorpene sub weigh around 2000 tons and to build and operationalize submarine takes 7 years and this is what happeneing with scorpene submarines india bought and being built with french help

    french aircraft carrier took 13 years from keel laying to operationalize, and don’t worry u will c how long ADS will take

    MDL takes more than 8 years to build a single destroyer or a frigate

    then y r u shouting for gorky and akula

    all systems will be new in gorky

  11. from

    World-class warships at Indian prices

    The three 6,250-tonne destroyers, fitted with the hot-selling Aegis radar and fire control system, will set Australia back by Rs 32,000 crore (US $8 billion). At about Rs 11,000 crore per destroyer, that is almost three times the cost India is paying for its Kolkata-class destroyers
    ———————————
    so whats wrong with gorshkov and mig29k in 2.9 billion US dollars
    what else can be cheaper than this

  12. I was the one with f*** the Russians comment… After reading (Anon’s 11:08PM and 7:35AM) comments, I think you’re right. There is something going ON.

    But, why do our leaders act like they had no idea about this entire price hike? Some saying they expected some increase were shocked when they got the actual number. I read this even before this latest $700.

    I have read some international defense reviews where they ridiculed the Russians and the way they go about defense contacts. I guess I don’t know what’s really going ON and on those grounds, if I was a little harsh on the ruskies, my bad boys! When I make a contract with someone, it’s a promise that I’ll deliver even if I under bid to start off with.

    I have to admit, Indians are bargain hunters and maybe we got too good of a bargain.

  14. to anon at 1.57

    don’t read too much about news articles most of them r not right
    at one point they say something and at other point they say something else

    india didn’t pay a single peny since russians asked for more $ 1.2 billion,although even if price is settled down to $ 2 billion for gorky it will not be bad cuz all systems gas turbines,generators,auxilliary systems,air conditioning and heating systems,radars and combat systems,pumps and electrical motors,residential and plumbing systems,communication systems and electronic warfare systems, will be new

    this makes gorky can b operated for 40 years

    v r paying much less to russkies ,just c how much others r paying to buy western equipment like

    mirage upgrading for euro 1.5 billion while mig29 upgrading for
    US $ 1 billion and this includes TOT for rd33-3 engines

    south korea bought 24 apache for
    $ 811 million v bought 80 mi17 for
    $ 1 billion

    turkey buying 30 f16 blk50/52 for
    $ 2.9 billion US v bought 40 su30mki for $ 2.2 billion US
