  1. nice pics maccha! it seems you used a better camera.but atleast you could have blurred out their faces…..these are not ordinary faujis;they work undercover most of the time…i don’t think I have to remind u of this.

  2. The quality of equipment used by our special forces is still below par compared to the other similar outfits around the world. What do I mean?… take a picture of a special forces soldier of some other country and compare it with our ‘special forces’ to realise the difference.

Apparently the rest of the world has moved so ahead that what we call ‘special’ in our country is considered normal in other countries.

Recently, on a Pakistani website, while discussing our special forces’ response to the 26/11 attacks, the Pakistanis were rolling in laughter commenting how our ‘special forces’ looked and behaved no better than Sudanese commandoes!

  3. in that outfit he might be feeling as if he is standing besides boiling oil…….no doubt he looks sad……..they should have covered therir faces themselfs like the navy marcos…..but shiv when you take high resulution pics of these pic its better to blur it…..

  4. Sanjay>> Apparently the rest of the world has moved so ahead that what we call ‘special’ in our country is considered normal in other countries.

And which countries, pray tell, would those be? If those countries consider special forces “special” based only on how they look, then the less said about them the better, naa? Shiny black outfits and flashy guns don’t make a soldier.

And its funny to see you quote a Pakistani forum in all seriousness. The situation in their country is so effed up that entire battalions surrender to rag-tag militias without firing a single bullet, and a comment by a deluded Paki teenager who calls Indian SF “no better than Sudanese commandoes” is all it takes to convince you that our special forces are crap.

  5. @SANJAY
I just want to add to what Mihir said. They are special not because of their look but they are special because of their “Special Mind” and “Special Body” developed through “Special Training”….. On fancy side. I think you should better make them look at MARCOS. BTW special forces doesn’t discloses they genuine combat outfit in public. They keep their special dressing for operation behind enemies line. You will never know how they look unless you become one.

Belive me, the GARUDs you see are not the GARUDs operating in enemy territory.

  6. Why I am not suprised. The weapons are from Israel. Making own designed and produced weapons is the mininium for a nation to become a major world power. Indians are happy to be in same league as Pakistan, buying their stuff from so called friendly nations. India has it worst because of having a trillion dollar economy.

  8. Here is a question:

It seems that the equipment is assymetrical. Is there any reason for the operatives to wear that bandana style headgear instead of a PASGT style helmet? Also, it seems that the Tavors have not made their way to everyone, the one with the Eagle insignia (not sure if it is related to the Garud forces) is carrying an AK rifle.

I also can't spot any radio equipment, which I thought would be standard for this kind of work.

  9. "Tejaswy said…

Could anyone name he gun the cap in the all the pics except the last one is carrying?"

Thats a TAR – 21 "Tavor" from Israel Military Industries. Don't be fooled by the Bullpup configuration, the P90 is still a better gun. What Indian SF needs is not just guns, they need NVGs, upgraded comms equipment, better body armour, shotguns, PSG1 sniper rifles and SAW Minimis (1 each per brick)along with standardised ammo.. not to mention proper intel support, better airborne delivery mechanisms and a more independent chain of command from regular units.. now i wonder, when will the politicos sit up, take notice and act on this without thinkin of personal gain in the process?
