A closeup of the Squadron patch will be wonderful
Nice photos… I read in some news papers that AWACS would be fully operational after 2 months as some things were due to be fitted or so.. Is it true??
And also why IAF symbol – like in earlier IL series is missing??
Thanks for the Photos.
The future 3 AWACS will probably be seen with an AIRBUS and not with IL-76 ….Indian Express reported.
prasun k sengupta’s misconception about that this aircraft will be grounded most of times just because its russian plateform
and PS90A engines are used in il96.tu204 everyday without any problem and if these commercial airlines can fly everyday without remaining grounded
then this aircraft fitted with PS90A engiens is much better than older il76 fitted with d30 engineswill no problems to be used in everyday operations
and this proves prasun k sengupta wrong for is misconception that this aircraft will remaine grounded
how does it looks from inside
sorry not airbus, but brazilean emraer jets
The massive dish atop the IL-76 would probably crush the tiny Embraer or the Saab business airplane.
There are several classes of Phalcon radars with different technical capabilities and range. And logically the size differs from one that can be mounted on a business jet to one that needs a heavy lifter.
To look deep inside our neighbour’s lands would need a long range device that is necessarily large in size. A large Phalcon device would need a hefty airplane like the IL 76.
Maybe future Phalcons could be mounted on larger airplanes like the Airbus 330, but there are none in existence, is there?
What is wrong with using an IL-76 anyway, apart from sloppy delivery schedules?
the uncles and aunties who are asking why IAF is not painted….this aircraft would be in close proximity to the warzone……do u see IAF written on fighter planes???? only navy dumbos had navy written on the harriers fighters but no morre on the MiG 29s……….
Even i read some of our media quoting that future acquisitions will be mostly non-Russian.
Well i feel, if our Mili.forces suddenly stop Russian Imports, security will go for a toss, as Russians may deny spares to alll our mil equipments like Su-30 MKI’s, T90 tanks etc…
What do u feel Shiv
saab will be delivering AWACS mounted on saab 2000 jets to Pakistan. so, does anyone feel India will be goin for saab Gripen (either way a weakling among others).
Maybe future Phalcons could be mounted on larger airplanes like the Airbus 330, but there are none in existence, is there?———————————you ar right ,anything to be developed in western world cost in tens of billions
and may be possible india may order more A50 for phalcon and thats why they rejected il78 tanker
saab will be delivering AWACS mounted on saab 2000 jets to Pakistan. so, does anyone feel India will be goin for saab Gripen ———————————sweden isn’t reliable either when someone like EU,US in some critical time put pressure on sweden not to supplu spares they they will move back
nor is US and for that matter other EU members
only france and russia likely to win MMRCA
or for that matter it would be either rafale(french has said tech transfer) or some mig35 may be ordered
can someone post inside pics of this aircraft like cockpit operational area
Wat is the name of the squadron?
