  1. Thank you for the picture of the badge..its not complete though…but any way thanks.

Are the rest of the pictures, pictures of pictures…I mean they are not clear and are glossy

  2. Il-76…Din't India refuse to buy them anymore?
    ———————————-
one can refuse anything for anyreason

nowdays a deal which has no corruption taste in it then it doesn't meet requirements,

barak-1 has failed several times and meets requirements becoz its got corruption taste in it and better missiles available than barak-1

same for MRSAM u all know how much was paid for royalities, and it meets requirements becoz its got corruption taste in it,

again better systems are available than this MRSAM

our air chief said it il 78 doesn't meet requirements what a f**k

before this our ex army chief JJ SINGH said those bofors FH 77 fully automatic howitzer doesn't meet requirements guess what these are most advance howitzers

then 197 helicopter deal scrapped because it doesn't meet requiremets again what the f**k with antony

then combat helicopter deal scrapped that no helicopter meet requiemets and then again reissued and price was increased from 550 million so that boeing can sell their costly apache

    our country is "CORRUPT-O-CRACY"

  3. well this proves the phalcon superiority over the SAAB 340 AEW&C. the pics show no less than 8 Mission operator stations and 4 control stations, adding to 12 overall. the saab schema below shows a mere 5. the higher number of operational crew station on the phalcon directly translate to better situational awareness and more command and control ability in the air. the saab in comparison is very limited.

  4. looks like some one used a bad quality scanner to scan the images provided by IAF.
Anyways the whole setup looks very hightech.
as they say " neighbors Envy, owners pride"

  5. Dude, these are scans or photos of pictures put up by IAF .You didnt go inside the AWACS did you ? Of course not 🙂 Anyway nice ..wonder why no one spotted that ..just look at the edges of 2nd and 3rd picture carefully !

  6. Anon: Obviously! These are phone photos of photos put up by the IAF at the Phalcon induction ceremony. Journalists were not allowed to shoot inside the Phalcon. Secondly, I was in Sri Lanka when the Phalcons were inducted. As you cannot fail to see, the photos are credited to my colleague Soni, who attended the ceremony and shared these photos with me. And as far as I know, these are the only photos on the web right now of the inside of the Phalcon. I hope someone gets original copies of these photos in a higher resolution, but for now, these seem to be the only ones!

  7. I hope you have permission to put up these photos. The interior of any aircraft, let alone something this advanced, falls well into confidential territory.

  8. Aditya: Your concerns are well-founded. But these photos were placed in full public view during the induction ceremony, and journalists were permitted to shoot them.

  9. Hi, shiv
    Nice photo…
I like to add that Air Force Chief said that or just given the hint that in future 3 more AWACS will be ordered and they will be placed on new aircraft like Airbus 330 or Boeing 737.
Now, that's a good news because Russian old aircraft don't match the IAF requirement. Russian also lose the Refueller deal with IAF and Airbus 330(MMRT) is the front runner for the deal.

  10. It looks awfully small!

I thought the Phalcon was much larger.

I guess the dome + radar must be taking up most of the space, al that is left is this squish.

  11. to shaktiraj

who will pay the development price for A330 AEW ??????

and if ordered it will take over 4 years to deliver

there are G550,SAAB AEW in market as well and are cheaper and comparable to AMERICAN 737 AEW which itself got delayed by 3 years

the refueller contract yet to be signed as of now no decision has been taken on this???

russian aircraft are not old like those earlier IL78 fitted with D30 just see this A50 aircraft it comes fitted with new PS90A engines and same will be the IL78

  12. nowdays russian stuff doesn't meet requirements

so akula 2 also not supposed to meet requirement of navy as well

  13. HI SHIV,

THE PHOTOS YOU POSTED AFTER YOUR PROMISE MAY BE THOSE DISPLAYED BY IAF BUT ARE DEFINITELY CONFIDENTIAL. YOU HAVE ALSO SAID THAT YOU WILL POST THE PICTURES OF COCKPIT FOR SOME IGNORANT GUYS TO POST SOME STUPID COMMENTS ABOUT THE QUALITY OF SEATS AND TYPE OF LOGO.
WHAT ABOUT OPERATIONAL FREQUENCIES AND ADVANCED RADAR MODES? WILL THEY BE UP ON YOUR BLOG SOON?
NO DOUBT IT IS YOUR BLOG BUT THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE THOSE OF A NATIONAL ASSET.
ITS HIGH TIME WE DRAW A LINE BETWEEN NATIONAL SECURITY AND BLOGGING FREEDOM.
SOMETHING TO EDUCATE YOU ALL: THE INDIAN AWACS IS NOT A PHALCON RADAR. PHALCON IS THE ACRONYM OF PHASED ARRAY 'L' BAND CONFORMAL RADAR. WITH SUCH A BIG DOME CAN IT BE CONFORMAL?SO STOP USING PHALCON IN YOUR BLOG AND DISPLAYING THE PICTURES AND INFO ON AWACS TOO!

  14. Nowadays Russia tries to re-negotiate every deal. Where is that carrier? Just a few "rubles" more, da guys?…

  15. many people makes comparison with the erieye. 5 seats against 8, this is due different aproach. The people controling the erieye, can sit in the plane or on the ground, it does not matter. so erieye is not limited in this aspect.
