  1. there is freget M2EM radar on the top of the mast

and probably same radar going to be used in grokshkov or probably
    freget MAE too

  2. Nice… Nice to see that the russians are putting 'our' money to good use!

what money u r talking about, india has to pay $ 947 million for gorky and by now india has paid only $ 700 million out of $ 947 million

and india still has to pay $ 247 million,so what 'our" money .

thats not mig at thats su25 naval version

  3. Can any1 give me detailed comparison b/n su-33 and mig-29k.How does mig-29k fair against su-33 in bvr??Can we fit brahmos on a mig-29K.
Even a decent link would do.

  4. What a sad looking "aircraft carrier"!

The Russians haven't even mastered catapault launching, their career is a toy just for show, just like ours unfortunately.

We should invest in engineering an indigenous electrically powered lauch system for aircrafts ASAP.

  5. Su 33 navy version …not su 25

    =====================
no there is naval version of su25 as well ,and su33 is naval version flanker

the smaller aircraft is naval su25

  6. The ninth photo has Mig-AT.

And the carrier has Su-33s which are heavy weight naval fighters while our Mig-29Ks are medium weight naval fighters, so can't compare Mig-29Ks with Su-33.

  7. I doubt Brahmos on Mig 29 for our Navy. It will increase its weight substantially which will make it difficult for short takeoff.

I was wondering why can't Russia and India go CATOBAR type of aircraft carrier rather than this STOBAR.

look at nose an rudder of ninth photo and then see some pics of
mig at and compare nose and rudder with mig at pics u will come to know what is truth

those who saying why russia didn't master catapult techniq

its not about mastery its about cost

STOBAR is simplest/cheapest option compared to STOVL,CATOBAR

in STOVL option there is need for much complex aicraft which is costly to maintain and to develop becoz of sedign complexity

and in CATOBAR there is need for catapult which depend on size of ship and is costly too

  9. no su33 isn't inferior to mig29k

mig29k has zhuk me radar and bigger version of this radar is now being exported to vietnam for their su30 and same can be fitted to su33 along with glass cockpit

    all matters is money

  10. Mig -29k is equal to su-33 , but the difference is su-33 in heavier & bigger than mig-29k, china eagerly looking for 50 nos su-33 for its carrier .To safe guard indian Aircraft carriers we massively needed more Submarines . India need to manufacture more large nos of ATV sub's , which seems to be latest & deadlier ( most of the tech is from russia )..

  11. brahmos cannot be fitted with mig29k its needs heavier jet like su-33. in indian fighters only su30 mki can carry brahmos , that too if it is modified specially for it . recently india has sended 2 su30 mki for russia for modification to carry bramhos missiles . To have edge with chinese su- 33 navel fighter , Mig 29k hardly needs ( air to air missile with 175 km range , but it also needs aesa radar to operate longer range missiles )
