  1. Looks so cheap. Is the engine at least common rail diesel with piezo injectors? Would be great if it is, but given this is DRDO product I somehow doubt it.

This will come in handy in fighting Naxals and Marxists who are getting funding from abroad to wage civil war in India. Nothing more.

  2. Shiv
thx for posting. It seems to have quite contemparary specs & seems to borrow a lot from experience of developing Arjun. Now, only need is for army to induct it in large nos and use it as the base for FICV project difinition.

  3. if u have 10 soldiers onboard a vehicle u need all round protection from atleast mid calibre weapons our soldiers are not rats, their life is precious &
    should be of utmost importance
i dont think this icv can give IED
    protection a basic need today

  4. IED protection is going to be quite pathetic since it does not have angled surfaces to deflect the blast. We are still making 1960s era vehicles.

It would have been cheaper to just buy some Mahindra Jeeps. They would have presented a smaller target for terrorists and would be more 'agile' in the fields, too.

  5. "cheap copy of the BMP-1" – sure, as if the BMP1 had all round protection, with multiple armor types including ERA, an all digital, fully stabilised FCS with FSAPDS and HE capability, and dual ATGM launchers, plus thermals etc.

Can you Paki kids grow up – we all know your country cant make diddlysquat on its own. Doesnt mean you die with jealousy each time India does something…

  6. Going by the current encouraging trend wherein all 'indegineous' equipment being built by DRDO are being lapped up by cheapo latin american countries, this 'THING' might also find customers among the latinos. Maybe DRDO should build stuff only for foreign customers and leave the Indian Army/Navy/Airforce alone. LOL.
