HAL’s Corporate Film

There’s no getting away from the cheesy soundtrack and 1980s-style voiceover (not to mention the irritating script), but here’s HAL’s corporate film. I don’t know how new this is, but I just discovered it for myself on their website. It’s got footage of all their products and facilities. Will never be able to figure out why sarkari organisations love drenching their videos with loud idiotic music that doesn’t allow the footage to breathe. There is not a single second — not one — of the natural sound of turbofans and rotors, which may have been the saving grace of an otherwise Doordarshan-level ad film.

  1. The production levels of this video are the same as HAL products. Which should tell you why the Air Force doesn't want any product made by HAL.

  2. Looks like the Paki anon@12:48 cant stand what India's aerospace industry is capable of. More and more Pakistanis are trolling on Indian sites nowadays, wonder why. While India thinks of the PAK-FA, all Pakistan can think of is just screwdrivering the obsolete JF-17. And the IAF is pretty happy with HAL, especially given what the Dhruv is doing in Siachen and the responsiveness shown by HAL for upgrades of the MiG-27s and Jaguars.

  3. ANY marketing video appears cheesy for that matter. It is just that the techniques get sophisticated with all the use of filters and colours and cinematographic effects etc. The bigger your budget for Audio-visuals the more upto date the promotional is. The point is why spend more on Audio-visuals? Personally I liked it.
