Its a great exhilarating feeling to fall freely for good about 40 seconds. Pity we don't have inexpensive clubs to do this kind of jumping as an adventurist in India. In the US there are jump shacks and skydiving for pleasure is not uncommon. You can buy the equipment and get going pretty quickly without much fuss. Some flying clubs in India can make a beginning in some cities. There are 'lunatics' everywhere !!

The guys don't look kitted out for a HALO jump, Shiv. I mean, no oxygen tanks/masks etc… even the U.S. guy is devoid of these fitments. Looks more like a medium altitude sky-diving thing.

US way of tactical marketing is really superior , in coming years india may place orders for globe master 3, any way it is really advantage for india otherwise these needful items will not be available for india immediately , if indian armed forces need also , it takes another decades for DAC to give positive sign & as usually every year unspent money will be returned to govt. Anyway this defensive weapons will give edge with dragons . Long Live Indo-Russian & Indo-USA relations

Apart from the fact that they are not wearing HALO gear, several of the jumpers seem to be senior people who are unlikely to be Garud troopers who tend to be younger.

Shiv you need to double check the story.

Why this "diversity" of uniforms? We see more than 2 types or are the colours orange blue supposed to mean something?

AkashGanga is the IAF's Skydiving team. these "grand-dads" (as one guy called them) are really experienced and very skilled at para jumping. There are at least 10 members of the AkashGanga team with more than 1000 jumps to their name. It can boast of members who have jumped over both North as well as South Poles, jumped from a height of 30000 feet by day and 25000 feet by night, jumped from balloons and micro-light aircraft and members who have participated in international skydiving championships. As a team, Akashganga can make a ten man Canopy Relative Formation and an eight man Relative Work Formation. Its jumpers can link up with each other in the air, before opening of parachutes after having exited from three different dropping aircraft.

why is that silly boy jumping off in reverse cowgirl style , in the second pic? I hope he doesn't hit his head of the roof of the aircraft while going out.
