Well, if the army is concerned about it's image and it's reputation, it should order atleast 500 Arjun MBTs… that's the honest thing to do.

I believe there is traditional script new Army Chiefs adhere to after being sworn in. They pray to Lord Ganesha by making pithy avowals like core beliefs, culture, tradition…and truly is the beneficent Lord obliging to his devotees.
Welcome, General Vijay Kumar Singh. We all pray and wish your success … Rajasthan, Rajputs, the enduring saga of Rana Pratap…the Mighty Sword of Rana Sangha. It is a story. So be it for you, my brother!

I wish he'd said that he will try to improve the condition of the service men and their families. Get the artillery and other badly needed equipment quickly. Instead he is trying to become the next Mother Teresa. What a douche!

As an Army Chief, his main responsibility other than strategic planning, during PEACE is to get the Army its dues, either in form of Weapons or equipment or welfare of service men and especially ex-service men. He should remember that finally he is the ONLY one who can kick or kiss the Govt's butt.

He should leave the task of internal cleansing to the formation commanders after passing simple instructions. Instead if he starts screwing the army, who will screw the babus and MP???

A case of misplaced priorities.. lets wait and watch, what this commando dagger/ranger does, as we have been watching for quite some years now.. or does he want to become a Governor too??

Hello… have some respect for the Army Chief. The guy has served in two wars. You've highlighted the other major Indian problem – a lack of civility.
