  1. seriously, i've seen RC planes that have better stats than that. When do they plan to make it operational Shiv? In another 20 years?

  2. True. It's embarrassingly amateurish. I sometimes like to think that these chaps put this stuff out there to put everyone off the scent of what they're really upto.

  3. Frankly, one of the few times i will say,WT Hell!
If indeed its s DRDO thing, they better stop dabbling in what is a widespread commercially available technology.

Better concentrate on the long range, high -endurance,smart and armed stuff.

  4. @ chandan
Ok since you are the resident genius in these matters i give you 3 months to make something better and post pictures here.

  5. Is it foldable???….is it ment for infantry units???…..How the hell a soldier will carry it….is ADA thing about it….seems to be wastage of taxpayers money…..ADA needs to be more accountable …..

  6. Hello ? Wot da hek is rong with every1 here ?? Its A MAV,der nufing rong with da lookz till it works nicely nd help our jawans .. You ever seen T – HAWK pics ,its klosely resemblence to HAWKINS PRESSURE COOKER WITHOT LID BT FLYING… So dose who only knows how to criticize desi MAV ,should 1 learn bot phoren T HAWK MAV too..

  7. The black kite looks a lot like an MAV being developed at University of Florida. And for all your information billions of dollars are being spent around the world to develop squad deployable MAVs. Designing these things are not as straight forward as you really think they are. I guess some of you guys should read up a little on unmanned systems before completely ridiculing it.

  8. I saw this design when I was a kid almost 20 years back, when a bunch of American RC enthusiasts came to Bombay to display there RC airplane aerobatics show at Juhu Airport. I am presently working on a quadrotor design with sufficient thrust to carry surveillance gear (digicamera+rf downlink). The main issue with any unmanned aircraft technology is power source, flight time, launch and recovery (landing). Now a days people are using wankel engines because of their better efficiencies. (notably Israel). I think, we also need to develop anti-uav capabilities for deployment at platoon level or individual soldier level.

  9. Don't form opinions without knowing what is going on. Search for MAVs and you will find "school bells" designed by "schoolboys" which are performing in the battlefield. It is very easy to read what the media puts out against the DRDO and become a "defence expert". Shiv is doing a good job of giving the inside perspective on India's defence research. So get a life before forming an opinion.FYI I was one of the "schoolboys" who was involved in the initial analysis of this "Schoolbell".

  10. Military pilot who had sex with an 11 year old boy when he was 17!!!
A JUNIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL WHO HAD SEX WITH AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT!!! He needs to be on a sexual preditor list.

And how long did he masterbate and think about having sex with boys? In boot camp? Into his flight training?

    "This person's disturbed." In fact.
You should have seen what he did with his brothers from age 5-8.

  11. WTF ?! Is it a plane ? Is it a pie ? A bell ? NO It is MAaa ?!!!

btw i had a good laugh !.. seriously the damn thing looks like a panake with a stick stuck at one end

  12. Hi,

This Black kite MAV is developed by NAL. I was involved in this project when I was there in NAL.

Among all models, this was the most successful.
