Gripen has too much American technology for our liking. We would face the same risk as buying F-16s or F-18s. We are already buying American engines for LCAs, plus the C-130, C-17 and P-8s. We could be putting too many eggs in one basket. A repeat of 1998 US sanctions on India could potentially leave half our airforce grounded.
