IAF, RAF Jets Gun Up For New Bollywood Film

The promos of Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor’s new film Mausam were put out yesterday. Kapoor stars as an Indian Air Force pilot in the film. And if the promo is anything to go by, he’s a Mirage 2000H pilot (Floggers/[Tornados] landing behind him in the fourth still), though for the film itself, he was shot in a UAE Air Force F-16 Block 60 and RAF aircraft as well. What is the jet in that last picture though — anyone?

  1. I just love the second pic..which looks like a Mirage taking off but actually there are two Mirages taking off simultaneously.

  2. That's exactly the question I had before I read the post.
    That is a Panevia Tornado.

What is he doing in UAE and RAF jet's, hope the film's good and not a Agnipankh.

  3. The Panavia Tornado.
Bollywood should use their expertise to turn out more realistic military movies, the types we are used to from Hollywood. Spare us the masala; though add a lot of cold war style black ops. yeah!

  4. F16 at Aero India where some scenes were shot. A friend showed me movie of the shooting progress. Cant guess what the hell an F16 – that too in UAE markings – will do in the movie

  5. The time has come for reserving the Director's role for the IAF brass. The civvies are just not up to the mark !

  6. yup a Tornado..but how can one tell if its an ADV or GR4? Tornado ADV's retired some months ago, but when was this movie's scenes in a Tornado shot ? the ADV could still have been operational when that was shot.

  7. @Adarsh..

The adv variant also sport the same wing lets in the vertical stabilizer section. And the RWR is somewhat same in shape of those variant. And really the scope to distinguish between GR4 and ADV is less given the less scope of the photograph. If you can differentiate between the Console of the WSO in two models then there's a little opportunity that some one can really distinguish the model. But as shiv said…End of discussion.. 🙂
