Ha, ha, ha…..and we all have been blaming politicians alone for corruption. Still they are party to blame as they allowed this to happen for so long. St. Antony should do something now at least – lest his sainthood should be tainted.

Its not based on an official investigation but on claims by "DNA news". There are plenty of rumor spreading media eg the recent case where it was reported that Trainer deal may be wrong with Pilatus filing incomplete estimates but all those allegations were found totally baseless.

No wonder our politicians and babus do not want indigenous systems. Buy Indian means no bribes. BTW has anyone noticed that BEML assembles only left had drive trucks in a left hand drive country.

And i was wondering all these years why we are still manufacturing TATRA and paying royalties despite having TATAs and Ashok Leyland offering similar or better.

And they say that India is a poor third world country.

Anyhow now no further defense deal shall be banned like bofors. Otherwise this time all the missiles and heavy guns may have to be carried out on the shoulder by the pyramid builders of the ancient pharaohs.

@5:52 Dont say something before research. China and India are ranked just next to each other in corruption while we have an open media that tells us about corruption their state controlled media hides scams. How many scams would have seen the light if channels were controlled by govt? None. Thats what China is, they kicked out google when search result showed criticism of their politicians.

@Ra and WikandFable Very nice point. If irregularities are found then people responsible shall be punished. But in the meanwhile procurement shall carry on. Anon @6:08 has made an valid argument. Some media guy jumped with calling Trainer deal tainted but all allegations were found to be false. Just like in that case the procurement shall move on normally and investigation shall be done side by side.

If I recall right this issue is being addressed by an $10bn tender for defense vehicles to our own companies like Tata, Ashok. Making in home is much more safer than purchasing especially when we have giants like TATA in our country.

ur being too nit picky. [email protected] was just venting his outrage at yet another scan unearthed. dont take his words literally…

as for dna being the investigative agency, well then let some official agency pick up the issue and confirm its authenticity. why are u people coming out against the media, defending these corrupt officials?

We shall provide our own companies the contract to build these stuff. Almost all of the trucks are home made in our country and this can be achieved in defense too.

Please obtain a statement from Defence Minister and PM on the issue. What is the role of the auditors.
We have been manufacturing Trucks since last sixty years, what is the reason that the knowhow is still not absorbed.
Defence related activities need to be more more transparent.

This has nothing do with congress. All those blaming the govt, why not blame Sonia Gandhi? why not just go ahead and blame Italy for all of India's problems?
    Its ridiculous and immature!

The problem is with the public sector companies – they need to be privatised! But then you'll have the opposition up in arms against that too! So do you still want to blame the govt?
