  3. One Regt of Brahmos will not suffice for Tawang Sector and Rest of Arunaanchal. The forces deployed around Tawang may not be able to cover approaches to Sikkim and Subansiri valley. From Jaswant Garh (Google) Brahmos will cover Lhasa, Shanna but not Shighaste. Similarilly, Tsangpo Gorge and raod leading to it will be uncovered. Approaches to Thimpu will also be far off. (All distances Google)

In order to properly cover Tibet, one needs two regiments in Ladakh, one regt around Joshimath, one to two regiments astride Gorakhpur, one around Kalimpong and minimum two to three in Arunaachal Pradesh.

I can not visualise what is being talked of? Brahmos to be used as Tacticle artillary ?? It should at least cover all airbases !! Air Force can not replace ground based missiles. On the contrary, they may base some of their missiles on the ground ??

    Why flaunt it then ?

  4. Brahmos has a range of 300km which will pose almost no threat to China as China is a large country. India should deploy AGNI-V or atleast AGNI-III near the border which will be a good deterrent.

  5. Forget about the Brahmos, India has not yet deployed the much needed Howitzzer and mountain regiment near china border. Recently in Headlines Today it has been shown that China has grabbed a considerable area in the Ladakh region during Kargil war when we were engaging with the intruders. Until we increase our strict vigil in the borders thse missiles will be of no use.

  6. Yeah that is what was needed. A 500 km missile to cover the Chinese border. Now we can all sleep in peace as the commies take the rest of the north east.

  7. Finally! Heck yeah! Been waiting for this news for few months.
@Dude saying we shall deploy Agni-V. Look mate, Agni-V or for that matter Agni-III are the weapon of last resort and no self=respecting country bases its entire deterrence on nuclear weapons. And know this those countries who do put all their eggs in nuclear basket (like Pakistan) will never be able to retaliate against limited thrusts as nuclear launch means full retaliation.

  8. The European's and US must be congratulating themselves on another developing world conflict…

There's money to be made from selling weapons to both sides..

  9. To the concerned person and department.

Deploy Agni III and latest Agni V near china border.

Modernize our infantry with latest artillery and mountain force.

  10. What is the comments of experts about deployment of Brahmos in Arunachal Pradesh for countering Chinese aggression. Should we not have deployed artillaries and tanks at forward positions all along chinese border. We must build-up good defensive positions at strategic locations so that we can counter for a long time Chinese aggression with conventional weapons. Nuclear war f any will be different. How many Brahmos can we deploy. We must deploy only indigenous weapons as it is understood that each shell of Russian tanks costs a few thousand dollars. India can never sustain any war for a long period with such costly weapons and ammunitions. Let us increase our production.
