  3. So the PLAN is building an air-strip at the Coco Islands is it? Then it doesn't really leave us with much choice than to base a fighter squadron at the islands.
Btw, Shiv, great work by the team. The program was highly informative.
P.S: The Andamans are really beautiful man! but then i guess as you said, the government might not want to compromise on the security of the nation by encouraging tourism.

  4. sir what happened to the abhay IFV the army still using BMP1
Can u also report if any indegenous program is on for the devlopment of heavy hitting artillery towed, tracked and wheeled
DRDO creating world class missile like the agni 4 cant create world class equipment in case of helmets, rifles, APC both tracked and wheeled variants
    WHAT AN INSTITUTION

  5. Shiv,

Saw your programme and it was good considering very few have gone that far to expose Armed Forces to the public. The amphibious capabilities need to be upgraded essentially by innovation and in termed of beaching and landings. BMP was looking really good floating in deep waters and the Army must operate at least one company per battalion with BMPs in the Island territories. All three service need to augment their strength on the island including SFC.

With Agni – IV, it would cover Beijing, it is going to be that important.

Retake Coco Island by treaty or force. That is imperative.

  6. still carrying sten guns..world war II…great..

why not give them spears and arrows instead?

pathetic – indian army soldiers are the worst equipped in the world.

    hurts me so much.

  7. Those are not WW2 helmets or Sten guns.

Those are Sterling submachine guns which were introduced in the mid to late 1960s to replace the Stens.

The helmet design is also post WW2.

These are certainly older designs but they are not World War 2.

  8. I saw your documentary on Headlines Today website. I noticed the deployment of FACs with the 30mm Medak gun. However, on the stern of one there appeared to be a 12.7mm Prahari Heavy Machine Gun. Is this in fact the case ?

I also observed an Optronic turret on the FAC, is this a FLIR system

  9. anony@9:10pm

which modern army still uses 'Sterling submachine guns'??

    sten or sterling..its still ancient.

    dont miss the point.

our soldiers deserve much better. but i doubt things will change.
