No Deal Before March, But MMRCA Lowest Bidder “Soon”: Minister

The Indian M-MRCA fighter deal won’t be signed before the financial year draws down, Indian defence minister AK Antony told reporters in Delhi today, but confirmed that the lowest bidder would be declared “soon”. It had been near certain that the results of the toss-up between bids by Dassault and EADS would be announced this month, though it now appears to have slipped into February. Stay tuned for more details.

  1. Dear Shivji if it is possible tell them to (common mans blood sucked corrupt politicians) can go to hell because that is their real home for them.

sorry for out of the topic

  2. I would consider the basic trainer deal more important than this one, as it would help pilots move gradually to the deep end, and ensure they do not have a steep learning curve.

@shiv, any news on LCA next series LSP?

  3. Even if the selected bidder is known anytime, it is impossible to conclude a firm contract before March 2012. That would take atleast 6-9 months. Nevertheless, good to know who is selected.

  4. I say iaf should go with rafale as it is a much better multirole than typhoon. Moreover it has some commonality with mirage so our guys at hal would find it easier to absorb all the tech in rafale and produce all the rafales much before they can produce typhoon(extremely beneficial for squadron strength).
Also we will use in the future super su 30mki and fgfa for air superiority roles.

  5. Hey Shiv
Suman sharma reports that the Rafale's Won..
Few months back subramanian Swamy had said of a secret deal between Sonia Gandhi and Carla Bruni for the Rafale… are we heading towards another Bofors????
whats ur take on this matter???

  6. SOURCES IN THE MoD INDICATE THAT RAFALE HAS WON THE MMRCA CONTRACT. THE FRENCH FIGHTER HAS EMERGED SOME $5 MILLION PER AIRCRAFT CHEAPER THAN THE EUROFIGHTER TYPHOON

  7. Is it really a good decision? after some time they are going to ask sky high prices for the maintenance. Like in the case of mirage!!!. Expensive bird. we should have settled with gripen or f-18.
