I don't know why but most of our defense personnel seem to have a tire around the waist. Might be they dont have time to work out with all the internal duties but every time i see a photograph there are a few guys with a fex extra kilos.

I am not sure if this a moment of joy or sadness. The AF must be proud of spending 100s of crores of my and your hard earned money.

The aircraft Pilatus replaces were in service since the 70s. Surely someone could have seen they will some day come of the end of their service life – and obsoleteness does not happen overnight.

The Air force engineered an emergency and got what it needed – the right to source from outside India. This is a low tech product, an good JV of an Indian private co with a global aviation company would have got us a decent aircraft – if only the Air chiefs in 90s and early 2000s had the vision.

The sad fact is that this lack of competence cost a few pilots their lives.

    Sad to see this day.

Pilatus 7 is a old trainer compared with pilatus 21. Why IAF goes for obsolete trainers when Qatar and other air forces are inducting pilatus 21 to train their pilots.

Nothing to be proud of…Infact, a shameful moment that a nation talking big cannot even produce a reliable basic trainer.HAL will now reverse engineer this and boast that they have developed a new trainer
