That's great Shiv.
Although there is nothing convincing in the answer Defence Minister has given. We all know about the ongoing 6 subs in the Mazagaon dock and that work is stalled regularly. When will ministers stop beating around the bush and talk straight.
Defense min answer for the question is simply superb , does he thinks we are pre LG students , we already know Maz is manufacturing 6 nos sub's for a long time and it will continue with endless, we need other than that any steps… MOD is making us !!!! . another great news 4 % hike in defense budget .. wow what a broad minded , so much patriotism on country thanks PranabJi, 4 % is soo huge amount for us , please re think to change it for – 0.01 % for 2010 budget .
good job congrats
Shiv…………….did you read the recent article by Ajai Shukla (Antony's Halo)…….really good. This reply on the Subs is in the same tune.
You should really do a "Report Card" on Antony since Oct 2006 and you'll see how little he has done in the last 3.5 years (He is living off George Fernandes/Pranab Mukherjee ordering). It's is amazing on what all the man is sitting on and how little he has done. Like the comment in Ajai's Blog – take each Service and you'll get a reality check……specially for the Army (just a load of RFI's and RFP's) and no closures/contracts (the towed arty trails postponed again till Nov/Dec.). All the info on contracts since 2006 todate are available on the SIPRI yearbook and you'll notice the drying up of orders since end 2006………
Please don't let it go…..do an expose on HT TV…you owe it to all the Mig's going down……………This guy is really letting India down (and letting the Paki's get away with Mumbai……………..)
Here you are, All omniscient and omnipotent friends,Titled "A Preliminary Assessment of Inhabited Platforms for AIR6000" and written by the DSTO's Graeme Murray and David Carr, the study is significant because it is one of only a handful of studies that looked at alternatives to the JSF.The government plans to buy 100 JSFs for $16 billion in what will be the largest Australian defence purchase in history. The study favours the JSF over other options and is blunt about the shortcomings of Australia's other fighter options. It describes the US F-16 used by the US Air Force as having a weak airframe and poor stealth.
It said Europe's Typhoon fighter had limited strike capability and was unreliable. It said Sweden's Gripen fighter had poor stealth, an underdeveloped electronic warfare system and payload and range limitations. The DSTO found that the earlier version of the F/A-18E Super Hornet — not the Block II version that has since been purchased by Australia — was underpowered, lacked endurance and "risks being shot from behind with a radar-guided missile".The US F-15E lacked stealth while France's Rafale had an unreliable and weak engine."The F-15E is good now, but not likely to be defensible in the expected electronic warfare environment in the 2010 timeframe," the DSTO said. "Rafale has short-term shortfalls in engine and radar performance."………………..TheAustralianLeave the Mod, DRDO, HAL, PSUs and all other state institutions alone, will you. Please quit bashing people in the name of progress or news. Let them work and so should you.
