    Shiv you should have mentioned that the Porkis are ahead when it came to the artillery this must have made some eye balls roll and hopefully at least next tender would yield a result.

    I think this arguement that they wont accept bofors artillery anymore just cos it was a big scam some 25yrs ago is crap…

    See, what they need to do is be more transparent ..why dont they have a Joint Parlimentary commitee approve the deal ..so that all the parties share the responsiblity …

    Oh please.. we already have plenty of committes and councils in the defence acquision process.. too much bureacracy is the reason defence deals often end like this.

    Things can not be entirely blamed on anybody as somebody must have succeeded and dugout a stockpile of ancient cannons with gunpowder.

    Italy is backing out of Eurofighter! Hopefully our MoD will not buy this failing, unreliable platform now.

    I am from Sweden and know for a fact that the Indian military has bought Fh77 replacement parts for several 100 million USD over the last several years. Directly from Bofors.

    The "Ghost" has more to do with buying new products and what foreign bidder can offer the best benefits to decision makers.

    BAE SWSDefence/Bofors doesn't dare to even pay for someone's lunch so they get dropped because they look "rude" to fat cats used to special treatment.

    @anon at 11:45 am,

    Even if MoD wants to root for Archer system, this tender should not have been scrapped. We all know what new tender,fresh trials, new competition and all of that means. It means MORE delay,adding salt to injury of delay. Indian Army so badly needs guns "NOW". Do babus in South Block understand English? Would not mind to volunteer for explaining them what "now' means. India is God's own country,run by HIM as well. GOI is just a delusion you should watch out for!
