PHOTOS: Indian Veterans Continue To Bleed

At the One-Rank One-Pension veterans protest rally in Delhi today. A memorandum in the blood of our retired soldiers. Shame.

  1. unbelievable…it seriously escapes me why any young man or woman would like to serve in the forces if THIS is how GOI treats our veterans..all that they ask for is a life led with dignity!!! GOI!!! you MUST answer!!

  2. IT IS INDED A SHAME!
WHILE THE MEDIA HAS BEEN GAGGED BY THE BUREAUCRACY THIS DOES NOT AUGER WELL FOR THE COUNTRY.
THE KEG IS SMOULDERING. IT IS NOT LONG BEFORE THE SPARKS BEGIN TO FLY AND THE SERVING OFFICERS AND MEN ARE ALSO DRAWN INTO THIS CAULDRON. THE EXPLOSION WILL BE HUGE AND THE TARGETS WILL THE SMART ALEC BUREAUCRATS.
HOPE WE DO NOT SEE A REPEAT OF THE BDR EPISODE WITH THE BUREAUCRATS ON THE RECIEVING END .OR – IS THE MEDIA WAITING FOR THIS SINCE THIS WILL GET MORE TRPs THAN THAT JUNKIE RAHUL MAHAJANS SWAYAMVAR.

TIME THE WIMPISH PM STANDS UP LIKE MAN WHICH I HOPE HE BIOLOGICALLY IS AND DISPENSES WITH JUSTICE RATHER THAN BEING HENPECKED BY THE ITALIAN MADAMME AND THE BUREAUCRACY.
SHIV – CAN'T YOUR CHANNEL WHICH CLAIMS TO BE DIFFERENT TAKE UP THIS CAUSE OR ARE THEY TETHERED BY THE BABUS AND THE ITALIAN MAFIA

  3. It's indeed a shame for me and every Indians. The politicians fight for there right to fly in business class jets and the Government of India doesn't have few hundred cores to meet there demands.

Let the Government of India learn a lesson otherwise I as an Indian will be with them to any end.

  4. Shiv,

Do you have the balls to speak up against the GOI and the likes of the UPA & MMS and assorted cronies, or will you be another joker in the media, playing to the gallery, ie useless fools like us who visit your blog and are similarly powerless?

You have the power, the ability to atleast strike a moderate blow for change. Please do a story on these people for Headlines Today or wherever it is that you work. Raise their issues to the public eye. Use this blog to campaign on their behalf, and we will support you.

Rise above the rest of us and lead, and make a tangible difference to the lives of those who routinely put their lives in harms way for the rest of us.

    Please.

An Indian citizen, and taxpayer, disgusted with the snivelling UPA politicians who will not even respect their heroes.

  5. It may not affect the congress even a bit but the common man who looks up to the the forces cannot do anything else would be boiling his own blood.
We can only hope that their demands get met.

  6. this is how naxalites are born…lack of governance and insensitivity for ensuring dignified living are the cause for unrest in the country..will the government wake up ???….ajb

  7. Dear Sharoor
Its time you go beyond the call of your own duty and ensure the reach of voice of these men to the powers that be. Somehow in this nation , ppl are so self centered that they are hardly inclined to think beyond themselves. The evil design of bureaucrats must be exposed on way to reaching the ultimate goal of justice.
I wonder what kind of symbiosis exists between bureaucracy and media that despite a confirmed fact of mass corruption in IAS and other services , issues are never exposed. Sad commentary for this nation with a lampoon-worthy democracy.

  8. The entire country treats the soldiers with due respect and considers JAWANS /OFFICERS of ARMED forces as theirs saviours and HEROES.The ARMED force personell have earned this with their blood and dedication. They have kept the country safe from real enemies in our nighbourhood.Performance during War of 1971 and Kargil,J&K and NE disturbances are enough testimony to their spirit and valor. The entire political class has time and again said they support ONE RANK ONE PENSION demand of the forces, yet the same spineless class of people who are rulers of this country can not get beyond their statements because of few babus of IAS.Even the statement by the Supreme Commander(President)in the LOK SABHA, that government will grant one rank one pension to armed forces personel, is not respected by HER own minions, speaks of the spineless class who are our leaders.Blood has started flowing in the form of signing letters, hope the President and the Prime Minister wake up and stand up to the Babu class and get what is due to to the Armed Forces. Nobody is asking for alms, they are demanding their dues, even the highest court ie Supreme Court has ruled in its favour.Yet the IAS can find ways not to implement it. Let the countrymen realize what harm are our leaders doing to the nation state.

  9. Lt Col(Rtd) KVS Choudhary

Shame on our so called Leaders and Ministers. They should see and learn how USA treats their Veterans.Even the statement by the Supreme Commander(President)in the LOK SABHA, that government will grant one rank one pension to armed forces personel, is not respected by HER own minions, speaks of the spineless class who are our leaders. May God Almighty Save us from these self centered Leaders(I feel shame to call them even leaders!)

  10. Shiv,
What amazeses all of us is why we continue to want the army personnel retired & serving to krinj & beg. As a nation are we not sensetive enough to give our men ( Only institution that has stood up to the test of time ) their due. The culprits are the IAS lobby and netas are buzy with their days in the sun. Hope we dont go the pak army way and ruin mera bharat mahan.

  11. shiv
Government is not lack of funds seeing them purchase all needless purvulence like augusta west land helicopters..they could have opted for Dhruv to ferry them ..whet the hell will happen to them after all they utilize the tax payers money..as they go to top our babus and politicians forget about the peopel in the frontline…

god save the poor old country..
    MoneyHind…

  12. I blame the officers in our armed forces. It is very clear that the state of politics in this country is rotten to core and every country needs a revolution to shrug off its old identities to build a new civilization. Yet they meekly watch from sidelines.

USA had to fight its civil war, France had its revolution and even China had its own cultural revolution. We here in India have replaced a British system of exploitation with an Indian one, nothing has been done to actually improve anything.

Power flows from the barrels of the guns, it is true, but if our own Armed forces serve like obedient sheep to corrupt MPs and MLAs, well they are bringing all this pain on themselves.

Not all dictatorships have to end like Zimbabwe or Pakistan. There are 'soft' dictatorships like Singapore too.

  13. Shivji a humble request from a fellow Indian: please use your media contacts and make sure these images are printed in large size in as many newspapers as possible. Most of the country still relies on print for its news, these brave veterans words are not reaching a wide audience as they deserve to.

Do everything you can Aroor saheb, we on the outside are completely impotent to express anything, at least you have some voice in media.

  14. The people responsible for this situation is not the politicians, not the babus, its the Military themself. The military has allowed corrupt politicians and babus to command them for too long. This corruption has not entered even the military. Unfortunately for our military, Constitution is more important than our Country. Its time the military wipes out the corrupt politician and babus and modernise our services on a warfooting. If not, we will be loosing a large parts of our motherland to our enemies.
