IAF Aerobatics Pilot Dies Four Years After Crash

Indian Air Force helicopter display pilot Wing Commander Vikas Jetly, who survived a crash in a Sarang display team ALH Dhruv in February 2007 during practice manoeuvers, died on January 11 after almost four years in a comatose state. I reported on the crash when I was at The Indian Express at the time. R.I.P.

  1. In their Death also they motivate us to do good for the country and Strive deliver a better and secure environment for India.
Salute to all you great men

  2. I personally believe one defense person should die before at least 100 gov netas/baboos.

As these are the only humans among us.

  3. RIP brave soul. It enrages me to see that the flats or any other benifits meant for the soldiers are taken away by the Poiticians, bureaucracy and the high ones in the Army. Now will Mr.Clean Anthony provide the job of a teacher asked by the pilots wife. Can the representative of the Indian nation do atleast provide that for the pilot's family or else she has to run from pillar to post seeking a job?

  4. You are very lucky. You got a chance to serve your motherland.
You have friends, parents and relatives who will be proud of you because you gave your life serving your motherland. Not many get this golden opportunity to rest under the tricolor.

And we should not mourn the men who doed for their their,Rather we should thank god that such man lived.

WE ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE PROUD OF YOU. AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR SACRIFICE.

  5. RIP Wing Co Jetly! We are proud of you. These pics look so fresh…never felt its been 4 years.Still remember the incident.I somehow don't get positive vibes from A M Naik.Don't expect him to be sensitive. The fellow looks grumpy and arrogant.Doesn't quite match up to a ACM personality.

He would make a good villian in a marathi movie.

  6. Rest in peace dear brave heart. It aches knowing our country has one less of the true spirited ones!!

    @ anon @ 8:42 – So true!!
