The AF seems to be leaving no stone unturned to make this event a PR success.
Curious, wont the dust damage the avionics, engines and other equipment?
Beautiful. But aint this 'landing strip' more like a flattened dirt bowl? Isnt that dust going to be harmful for turboprops?
IAF should seriously consider the making the superhercs their primary medium transport aircraft… without the specops modifucations they would certainly cost much less…
I cant believe it SDRE's are acting more like TFTA Americans . Awesome Pr Campaign keep it up .
I wonder which Drove was used? – Thanks for sharing the video Shiv
why the runways isnt paved with asphalt. Is it not done because of logistics or because of 'not to spook china'scare factor.
Brilliant, keep it up India.
This looks like Searcher footage. Could you confirm, Shiv?
The dust can be cleaned, lol
What the hell this is fooling people. Its just mere taxiing and take off. We thought they dropped supplies and holding ground at DBO. Run Run chinese are coming.
IAF is killing the plane's engines. Can't IAF get a mechanised sweeper or truck to remove the dust? The video shows IAF's total lack of care for their planes engines.
To those asking: This is indeed footage shot from a Searcher Mk.II drone ex-Leh.
Landing on such a dusty strip is very harmful to the engines. I hope there a reason for this madness
Seriously shiv, this PR nonsense has gone overboard
Awesome video! I did not know wheather to keep my eyes on the C-130J or how the Searcher was manoeuvering.
It was like having 2 beautiful ladies talking to you at the same time :-)))
Jhadoo/paunchas from Dhaula Kuan- you are needed!!
Aircrafts especially the military ones are designed very tough to withstand the environment they are expected to operate. With regards to air with lots of dust, the air filtration system is top notch and it does not let dust enter the engine. It is just that one has to clean the filters and do the maintenance of the air filtration system more often when you operate in these environments.
Great – with all the dust we can land just one plane at DBO every half hour. Whattay tactic sirjee!
Impressive what this aircraft can do. Flew the old C130 and the new versions are so much better.
There was a point there where I was clenching my teeth.. but nice job by IAF.
That Searcher footage is really good quality.
We should have one of these in the sky over Bombay 24x7x365 – will do wonders for law enforcement.
Not a Searcher video. Taken from the EO IR pod of another C-130J which was the chase aircraft that day
Looks like a martian landing. NASA should come here to practice manned landing on Mars.
