Livefist QUIZ #1 | What is this?

Inspired by Ajai Shukla’s very interesting quiz posts on his blog, I’ll be periodically posting photos here on Livefist and inviting readers to identify what they are. Starting the series with this pretty easy one. Promise to make it tougher as we go along!

  1. IMO this is a radar prototype thats being tested for the HAL Tejas. Probably an AESA. The aircraft shown is the famed ASP(Airborne Surveillance Platform).

  2. LCA-MMR Antenna with scanner on HS-748 AVRO called HACK aircraft exclusively meant for flight testing of indigenous MMR for LCA!!!!

  3. The photo is that of the MMR Radar installed on the Hack Aircraft. This radar is being developed for LCA Tejas program and reportedly has a detection range of 120 kms.

  4. its tejas mmr over hs 748 avro modified testbed one of these was a platform for flop show project airawat which crashed .but this prototype was not satisfactorily functioning had some malfunctioning in a2a mode as much as my knowledge is concerned .well mr shiv it was'nt a big mess.

  5. WELL I READ SOMEWHERE WHICH STATS THAT MARK 1 VERSION IS NOT CAPABLE TO GO BEYOND MERE 6G TURN ,DOES NOT HAVE HIGH ALPHA CAPABLITY NEITHER MANUEVERABLE NOR CAPABLE FOR DOGFIGHTING .I FELT LIKE A HOAX BUT WHAT'S YOUR OPINION .I THINK I HAVE ASKED A SENSITIVE QUESTION I AM VERY CURIOUS ABOUT THIS FIGHTER

  6. multi-mode radar (MMR) being the ELTA-supplied EL/M-2052 AESA on a test bed destined for Tejas.

  7. Its definately not AESA radar. since i see a mechanical steer. I think its a pretty old MM – doppler radar of some aircraft.

  8. At least give credit to the most accurate contestant yaar – its an incentive that Ajay does too…..
